Hey, the name's KrimsonKatt and I'm just a random catgirl surfing the interwebs. I am an indie game dev and have been developing games since 2014. I am the creator of the Chronicles of Chronicles Series which features over 50 planned projects made in multiple different media formats. I love playing video games, particularly platformers and RPGs, and my favorite series include Xenoblade, Kingdom Hearts, Hollow Knight, Persona/SMT, Fire Emblem, NieR, Bravely Default, Octopath, Kirby, Zelda, and Castlevania. I also like anime, manga, drawing, writing, comics, animated movies, marvel, music, etc. In other words, I'm a complete nerd. I have many games currently out and in the works. Is @YanflySucks a troll?

Wait, Yanfly almost got assassinated? And got banned from a sever for literally calling out a scumbag who stole his plugins with proof? Why have I never heard of this before? No wonder he's so salty. Now that I know there's no risk of me getting sued, I'm going to go all-in on plugin making and am going to make my whole free plugin database dream come true. Bring it on!

@Kentona You didn't know? Then why is it included in this site's code when you're the one who's running this whole thing? But yeah, MZ is the latest engine and the successor to MV. It has it's ups and downs, it's ups being Visustella, good QoL and new features, and better performance, with the bad being the mobile-game focused UI, the terrible artstyle, and it using a separate 3D animation tool to make animations instead of a simple and intuitive built-in one like MV and VX Ace had. Luckily everything in MV is compatible with MZ, so you can just transfer everything over, including the animations, so two of those negatives aren't an issue if you already own MV.

Edit: I really need to learn JavaScript so I can make my own plugin library that's completely free. Hopefully yanfly doesn't sue me lol. Also, I don't think JavaScript is that unpopular. Isn't it currently the most used language other than C++. and the only reason that's popular is for mobile game development? Idk.

Meteo Chronicles (Demo)

I've already fixed the thief glitch thing. It was a move routes issue, and It's fixed now in the latest update. About the other glitch with the subclasses, I'm pretty sure it was caused because when you obtain the second seal you unlock all those other classes which before you didn't there. It's weird how the game doesn't separate the classes from main and sub, and I have no idea how to fix that as I'm pretty sure messing with Yanfly's code or even making an add-on would be against his TOS.

[RMMZ] JP Levels?

@Marrend Yes, I absolutely need this plugin. 100%. My game can't function without it. Or at the very least, I'll need to have a plugin that makes class levels and character levels separate.

I don't want to do something like FF Tactics which has a large branching class list with classes building into other classes and skills transferring over between them. I want a system where you can freely change classes at any time out of a selection of 20 or so of them that you slowly gain throughout the story to fit different situations and builds where the levels you gain from classes are separate from regular levels and only give you new skills and abilities. You still get stat buffs from leveling up, but the character levels are the things that give you stats, not class levels, which are different for each class while character levels stay constant.

My game doesn't involve learning skills from a menu like FF Tactics does. Combat Arts (not magical attacks) and Passive Abilities are learned by leveling up classes. (no new skills are learned by leveling up your characters) Meanwhile, magic (anima (fire, ice, thunder, and earth) magic, light (healing, revival, curing, buffing, water, wind and light) magic, and dark (debuffing, dark, poison, drain, and gravity) magic are learned by using "animus" which when used on a character teaches them a particular spell permanently, which you can craft using materials gained from monsters and chests. My game wouldn't work the way I imagined if I included a skill-learn menu like what I did with Meteo Chronicles. I really need that JP levels plugin, or I might have to take a break from RM for a LOOOONG time to learn Javascript and make those plugins.

I tried thinking of a system that could work with the current plugins available, but after further though I determined that it was impossible. I could have one main class that is exclusive and the same for every character which is hidden form the player and is unchangeable. Then I have the subclass be the class you actually change which gives you different stats and such.

However, since I want the maximum class level to be 16 rather than the cap of 99 for the character level, it would result in unbalanced stats since I either have to make leveling up a class give you tons more stats than leveling up your main class which would discourage experimentation and make it way too easy to become OP, or make it so that every class has the same stats and that stats are only affected by the character which would just make all the classes the same stat wise and that's boring. I also couldn't use JP to level up classes, only EXP, and that's once again boring. There was a plugin for MV that was absolutely perfect, but I can't use that since I'm using MZ. I'm also scared to learn Javascript and make my own plugins because I'm afraid Yanfly will sue me. What should I do?

So a while ago during the whole #plugingate fisaco I stumbled across a user called @YanflySucks on twitter. He was offering pirated Yanfly plugins for free "with the old TOS" and constantly ragged on Yanfly and made many allegations against him such as him going after other plugin creators and forcing them to quit the community or get sued in order to secure a monopoly on the plugin industry. He claims that this is why so many plugin devs outside of Yanfly's circle left the community, not because of "toxicity" like they claimed (the RM community is one of the most wholesome communities I know. What toxicity?) but because Yanfly threatened to sue them if they did not quit so Yanfly could achieve a monopoly. A monopoly he currently holds with MZ plugins and Visustella. According to @YanflySucks, everyone is too scared to make competing plugins to visustella in fear of being sued by Yanfly, so plugin devs either stick to MV or outright quit. @YanflySucks also claims that Yanfly has direct ties to KADOKAWA and that's why he was able to not only get MZ extremely early so he could be the first to make plugins so no one could claim that they were first in court, but also why KADOKAWA archived the MV forums and started promoting the heck out of MZ and even going as far as to discontinue service for RM2000, RM2003, RMXP, and RMVXA in order to encourage people to buy MZ. (according to @yanflysucks, they probably would have discontinued discontinued MV as well, but that would make their plan too obvious) In exchange, Yanfly would offer KADOKAWA 40% of all shares in plugin and patreon revenue, which is a lot since Yanfly makes tens of thousands every month from Patreon and Plugin sales alone. Are these allegations true in any way, or is that user just trolling to stur up drama? I think he also got suspended some time back, giving more evidence that this guy was a troll. What do you guys think about this whole situation? Do @yanflysucks' claims hold any water, or is he just a dirty troll trying to make a bad situation even worse? Comment down below.

[RMMZ] JP Levels?

So I'm making my game in MZ but it has come to the point that I can't continue because there is currently no JP levels plugin for MZ. In my game, I need for there to be two types of levels, character levels and class levels. I plan for it to be somewhat similar to the Bravely Default series or Final Fantasy V where JP is basically just EXP but for classes and helps classes level up which gives you new skills and passive buffs.

Problem is is that only one JP levels plugin exists for MV (which works perfectly) but there's absolutely no plugin for MZ yet. I even shilled for the Visuastella MZ plugins with my graduation money so I could get that sweet sweet Bravely Default battle system plugin I've been asking people to make for literally years, and even still after nearly 60 plugins they still haven't ported all the MV ones including ones made by third parties like the JP levels one.

I absolutely NEED a JP levels plugin for my game, my game can't work without one, but even if I knew javascript (I'm beginning to learn) I couldn't make a JP levels plugin for myself even if I wanted to because you now have to get permission from Yanfly to make plugins that are even compatible with his unlike in the golden era when MV was new and plugins were free.

Worse still, the only way to contact the team is through Patreon which is insanely expensive and I already have multiple subscriptions going with limited income and can't invest in another one. Also, I've heard rumors that he is also known to sue anyone who "copies" his code which to him means any plugin that serves the same purpose. Are these true?

If that are, then that means that I either 1: learn Javascript (which could take years) and make my own plugin library for MZ and risk being sued by Yanfly, (he already sued SRD, HimeWorks, and Galv, according to the rumors) or just hope and pray that the Visustella team make a JP Levels plugin before all 10 tiers end.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to help me? Or even better, can anyone get in contact with the Visuastella team so they can make a JP levels plugin like the one they had for MV? Don't get me wrong, I do respect the team as a whole, but strongly disagree with Yanfly's predatory tactics in the plugin-making community.

He's been doing stuff like this ever since some fool stole and resold his and his associates code on his own scammer website, going as far as to "recruit" random RM devs for him to promote their games in exchange for the dev to promote his website which sold stolen plugins and assets. (which were free at the time)

Because of that man, RPG Maker will never be the same and the only hope is some rich guy who knows Javascript and does RPG Maker AND makes plugins who has the money to hire a good lawyer if Yanfly sues them and actually be able to win.

I have one of those things and am working two of the others, but my family can't afford a good copyright lawyer to work on a case for possibly multiple years. Unless someone in my family wins the lottery or my grandma dies (she's super rich but doesn't show it) and my mom gets her inheritance, there's no way I'm risking going against Yanfly who makes thousands a month solely off of patreon and plugin sales.

He'd beat me in court easily, since he has far more money and I'm unemployed and broke. (sorta, I have about $1200 in savings, but that isn't enough for me to last) Sorry this kinda turned into a rant lol. I just really need that plugin, it's late where I live, and I'm tired. I don't want to quit this project because some guy in Portugal or something refuses to listen to feedback, positive or negative, unless you pay him, meaning unless you pay up you have no say in what plugins are chosen and put into a steadily decreasing pool. Please, can someone get in touch with Visuastella and get them to make that JP levels plugin? I really need that and if it's not created soon I might have to take a break from RPG Maker and instead work on my massive backlog.

(P.S. Just to let you know, please don't ban me for this. I recently got banned from the official RPG Maker Forums for making a similar post that went a bit further into conspiracy territory and bordered on libel, but I made sure this time to be vague with my accusations and not say anything idiotic like "KAKOKAWA runs a ST ring." That was so dumb lol.

Once again my autistic brain getting reality confused with my own fiction in my subconscious. Figures. I regret those actions heavily though, regardless of my stupid autism, and I wish to apologize and eventually return to those forums, as I am not 100% sure how long I'm banned for. I know this is important for people to say so I'll say it. I'm sorry, and regret my actions. I was an idiot, and I will try to not do something dumb like this again and think before I post. But hey, at least I didn't groom a minor like all those people did. (You can probably guess who) I'm a degenerate, but I'm not THAT degenerate.)

Meteo Chronicles (Demo)

I am working on it. I've already fixed the three animus glitch in 1.0.6. You still aren't able to learn the skills even after updating because an event played in the background every time you exited the shop to see if you bought the animus. If you did, it would mark that animus as obtained, play a short cutscene, and then activate a switch that would allow you to learn the new skills. There was a glitch in the eventing where the event would play for random items other than the animus you just obtained, causing problems. Since you cann no longer access the shop after buying all three, the activation event cannot play even after updating your save and you are locked out of some major game content later on that requires all 12 scions.

For the other glitches, I'm in the process of fixing the sword stolen scene, and once again, the boulders in East Graape will not open up until the end of chapter 8. It is not a glitch for the boulders to be there, and the quest is available to start early on order to remind you to head back there later once the game says that new areas have opened up. Finally, I'll look at the dialogue again at the beginning of the East Graape quest again to change it if Stacy and/or Zenith are not in the party yet. I am also working on adding collision to certain tiles late-game in Ozma Keep and Castle Naughtmare. Thanks for informing me of these glitches. I will go and fix them right away.

@Mimella You get Jeht in Chapter 7 after defeating Baron Ozma right after someone important leaves the party. Chapter 5 is the longest chapter in the game with it basically being 4 chapters in 1. (Chapter 5, 5-1, 5-2, and 5-3) Chapter 6 is where you defeat Baron Ozma, Chapter 7 is the chapter where Jeht is introduced, Chapter 8 is where you try to rescue someone important, and after that is the endgame where you gain access to the bonus dungeons such as the cave north of East Graape (Frozen Crypt) and can take on the final dungeon and bosses. Just to let you know.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll update the game accordingly. Finding glitches within my game is super time-consuming and takes forever, and I've already played though the beginning of my game 30+ times and I don't want to keep doing it. So I'm basically having the the community bug test for me lol.

@BlackAssassin7 I think that's the reason why the glitches aren't fixed. Because you keep transferring your save file to later versions and since some things are already pre-loaded, including glitches, they will not be fixed even if you updated the game. Also, about your questions. If you collect the secret evidence in the Magitek Gardens, you will not have to collect the other three pieces of evidence as they will no longer be of any use.

However, they are required for a 100% item log, so keep that in mind. To pass the barriers in Magitek Gardens, you must defeat a certain number of Slaughternaughts or Murder Golems to progress past the barriers. I don't think you ever mentioned the slab in Ari Caverns before, but I'll go and fix that right away. The golden chest in Aetheria Castle holds an ultimate weapon for Stacy, which can only be opened once you reach Lv.80 with her. Therefore, you are able to interact with the chest as many times as you like until you are the appropriate level. I'll check out that chest again anyways. Thanks.

Also, sorry about audio files and other things missing. That's mainly due to me using "remove all unused files" when exporting. Since some of those files are used in plugins and not the database, it does not carry over those files for some reason.

Finally, the rocks in the cave to the north of East Graape will not disappear until you have completed Chapter 8 and entered the endgame. This is to prevent players from going into the bonus dungeon Frozen Crypt before they're supposed to.

@Marrend No, it is not possible to skip chapter 1 and 2 by leaving Ari Caverns after obtaining the raft. The guards in Banna will not let you pass unless you have reached all the story flags required, even after you've obtained the raft.

@Quackadoos I'm glad you enjoyed my game as much as you did. It's strange that subclasses don't work as of now. I'll try looking into it. And yes, I'm using these current versions to have people playtest the game for me as I despise playtesting myself with a passion and I can't exactly get my friends and family to help because 1: I have no friends 2: My brother is the only one that even plays videogames or RPGs for that matter 3: Covid, in general, and 4: my family won't exactly approve of my game content. (IE, the implied sex scene, Jeht, the East Graape sidequest, Koros' arc, ect)

I marked the game as complete because the game is complete from a development standpoint, but not from a bug-testing standpoint. I also wanted to finally get the game out and meet my release date since I've already delayed the game like 7 times. The game was originally supposed to release September 2020. It instead released Febuary 2021. The game was already finished and fully playable as shown with your comment, so why should I delay it again because it's glitchy as all heck? I was also getting tired of working on the game project endlessly and wanted to begin something new, so I released it as is and plan to have other people's feedback help me in bugtesting as I'm too lazy to do it myself and it just isn't fun at all. Sorry about that.

Sorry I was a day late in responding to all this traffic. Meteo Chronicles (Demo)

@BlackAssassin7 I have a couple explanations on why things may have gone wrong on your end.

1: You're playing an older version (such as 0.7) that is a lot more buggy than the current version. (1.0.5)

2: In West Graape, I actually have two alternate maps for the same area due to the area changing slightly if you completed a sidequest in Aetheria or not. If you completed it, you would be brought to the normal West Graape, but if you didn't complete the sidequest, you would be brought to an alternate version of West Graape that lacks one of the shops located there in the normal version. Since I have to create every scene on that map twice, some issues may arise with me accidently neglecting the alternate west grappe, leading to issues. If any issues did exist however, they are fixed now.

3: An for the reason why the game crashed once Amon started walking, it could be that an NPC blocked his path, causing the game to softlock. Also in the newest update, I have changed it so NPCs in that town do not wander, which will allow Amon to walk his regular path.
