Please, try to calm down a bit. You are more than just your games, and there is no reason to think negatively about yourself as a person just because some projects you made received critical reactions. Everyone has to start somewhere and keep learning and improving. You can do that, too.

Nobody here hates you. If people criticised your games, then that's because they want to see you improve and learn from what you've done so far. Try to understand that and don't obsess too much over it.

You will always have worth, no matter what. It's true that you have a lot to learn as a game developer. But we all did, starting out. We all made that bad first game. It's something that happens.

Instead of beating yourself up, work to improve. Read those reviews and try to understand why people thought the game was bad. Maybe play some other games on the site to see what other people did with their games.

Ultimately, learn to listen. I tried to warn you about this, and gave you pointers to improve ZGF over PM, and you ignored me.

I really hope you won't give up and will work to become a good developer, but you'll have to put forth effort and learn how to make a good game. You can do it. Don't give up!
I don't know how to say anything about this without sounding like an insincere prick, but please look more into why we didn't like the game rather than just the fact that it wasn't appreciated as much as you'd want it to. Reviews are merely a single person's opinion. They, in no way, define your worth as a person.

If it matters, I'm more than willing to do it over if you decide to remake the game. Just pm me if you do so, and I'll give it another shot.

1) First of all, even if you suck at gam mak, that doesn't extend to the rest of your life. There are, presumably, a bunch of things you're great at. (Also, gam mak is kind of a nothing skill in the big scheme of things. It's a cool skill to have, but it's not all that important.)

2)

Sit back, take a few deep breaths, and remind yourself that your life does not- and should not!- center around being able to make electronic diversions.

And, of course, bad reviews, while painful, give you important information you can use to improve if you're really determined about doing more gam mak.

Criticism is super helpful to a creator. It's not going to stop hurting any time soon, but such is life as a person that makes things. It's fine to hurt, but in the future, probably better to not do it so dramatically and publicly. Get off the computer, go play with some cute animals, or run around, or go shopping, or whatever; distract yourself and work off some of the emotional energy. Don't let yourself get absorbed into these downward spirals of depression.

Listen to Sooz. Criticism hurts, it stings, but if you can learn to take it, you can use it and make your games so much better.
I'm a failure too. Let's be failures together.
dragonspirit99, I think it would really be good to calm down and actually read the reviews instead of looking at the scores. Take the scores with a pinch of salt (that means don't take the scores too seriously). It isn't like a bad score is the end of the world.

If anything, the reviews actually give you tips/advice on how to improve. Do you want to improve and become better? If so, open your ears and eyes and listen to others and their advice.

What's most important is that you listen to others and become even better. Remember that success always starts with failure.

Yeah, word. Like a score of less than 2 isn't good by any metric, but that doesn't tell the important stuff. That's the stuff in the review itself, which tells you what you need to improve.

At first it's gonna be super intimidating, because you're (I assume) starting out, so you basically suck at everything. That's fine; everyone starts out just sucking all over. Look at the list, pick out one or two things you feel like you can work on right now, and work like a mofo to improve yourself.

After a while, once you're pretty well-practiced in those things, you'll probably find yourself more able to start working on your other weak points.

There'll always be parts that you suck at for one reason or another, but on the flip side, you'll always be able to improve. Unless you're dead.

I was so dumb in 2016 lol. Don't mind my depression, it was really bad back then.
Luckily I'm a lot better now! :)
