How does this site save submitted games? I worked on a page for 2 hours and I closed it now I have to start all over again.

They are not automatically saved. You have to do it manually by pressing the submit button. (if the mandatory screenshots are not there it won't show up in the submission queue, so you can continue to work on it later)
this site is built on ancient technology where you have to manually click things to trigger page submits
Paste the whole thing into Notepad occasionally, I guess is the best solution.

Stand back. Artist at work. I paint with enthusiasm if not with talent.

Rmn's ancient boomer tech also gets uppity when you add any of them fancy emojis or special symbols. It'll teach you a lesson in complacency by erasing that symbol or emoji and also everything you write after it, as I found out when I submitted my gamepage's description the other day. Luckily I had pasted it from notepad++ so I simply had to replace the symbol and try again.

Make it a habit of using an external text parser to do everything before you paste it on the site.

They told me I was mad when I said I was going to create a spidertable. Who’s laughing now!!!

Don't make games and you won't have this problem.
