WIP. Still need to add some pants. May tweak the tinting or add a radius of darkness picture on top to reflect that it's nighttime.

EDIT: With darkness radius.

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

Spriting one of the main characters stark-naked for a cutscene. Hooray for pixel penis.

What are you thinking about? (game development edition)

Thinking about how to expand the gameplay in the first segment of my game. I'm quite happy with the first dungeon, but I'm beginning to think that it needs to be expanded (it can be beaten in 10 or 15 minutes). Otherwise a good portion of the first chapter will be just cutscene and walking about.

So, my options:

I) expand the first dungeon in the game
II) find a way of adding another dungeon or some quests into the college
III) introduce some other form of gameplay in the college (minigames?)

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

Thankfully, I managed to dig up a backup of my main project, "Glass". I'm wrapping up the first "chapter", if you want to call it that. Just a couple cutscenes to go and the two main characters are out of the starting zone :-)

Expanding upon the game

I wouldn't mind expanding the dating sim element of the game a little bit more. After all, that's a big part of the "Princess Maker" series. Perhaps expanding your romanceable options? I felt like Natalie and Eric were locked into romancing the Prince and error respectively. Is it possible for them to romance each other? Could I potentially romance Sister? Do all of the romances have to be heterosexual? What kind of random events could one have to improve relationships? Could you give gifts to people you like? Could they admire people with certain stats (maybe Sister only dates people with a high enough faith score)?

I wouldn't mind more dungeons. Cracking open your project in RPG Maker, I saw there were three. But I only discovered two. Expanding the dungeons to have some basic puzzles in them would be nice.

That's all I have for now. I'll give it some more thought.

Adventure Academy

As one final note (and this one's a final nitpicky one that probably doesn't warrant a re-release of its own), when controlling Mrs. Cat, you may wish to disable the menu. Otherwise, if the player saves in the chapel, when they reload it messes up the autorun event that the old man is set to and glitches the game.

Great job on this, BtW! It's a very fun little game. Are you going to expand it any further in the future?

Adventure Academy

Another bug. If you choose to evacuate people to the castle at the end, after entering the castle, nothing happens. I opened up that portion of the game in the editor and it looks like you're missing an autorun event. Perhaps you accidentally deleted it?

Adventure Academy

I think your graduation event is broken. I've leveled Eric and Natalie past level 8 and trained all of their skills (Eric towards being a mage, Natalie towards being a warrior), and Eric still can't seem to graduate (leading to a gameover).

I'm going to try fooling around with the event on my own and see if I find a solution. I suspect it's a problem with your conditional branches.

EDIT: Yep. You need to update the conditional branches for Eric's portion of the graduation event. The failure option is within one of the branches for the warrior upgrade when it should be outside of it.

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

My computer died a week or so ago, and so I lost my entire project. Boo hiss. Fortunately, I managed to save all of my resources, but it looks like "Glass" is on hiatus until further notice.

Decided to start a new project (or rather, to revisit an idea I had from several years ago). It's an NES-inspired horror RPG. Right now I'm beginning on the tileset. For most of it, I'm going to shrink RTP tiles, trace them with only two or three colours, and then upscale them once again. Texture will have to wait until later. I don't have a lot to show for it yet, but it'll happen. Slowly.

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

Procrastinating on scripting the two cutscenes that will end Chapter 1 of my game. Instead, I added no fewer than 7 (seven!) new rooms to the Academy. Now I'm starting to populate them with NPCs and loot (because it just isn't an RPG without rampant kleptomania!) :-3
