LIBERTY'S PROFILE

I enjoy playing and creating games (mostly RPGs) and have a love of story and characterisation above graphics. I've been into RM* since '96 and have used all makers - started on the PSX makers, found and used a patched version of the SNES RM, then moved to RM95. When I found RM2K I finally decided to join some forums and I've been a part of the community ever since.

It lives... AGAIN!

Would rather not do that since it would create a lot of issues:
- unfair advantages based on money, not merit. Someone could just queue up all their games one after the other, or the same game weeks on end.
- If no-one paid, though, what would be placed in the position
- a queue could easily form, one after another, forcing people to wait to see their game in the spot
- first come first served vs amount paid
- if an issue happened like a crash or bad link, how to handle? full or partial refund? more time (pushing queue back?)
- if someone gets banned, does their game stay?
- someone may delete their game or take it down mid-promo and break the site
- chargebacks and the like
- bad games being shown and promoted just because someone has more money than gamedev ability
- feelsbadman.png among community from all this
- if a controversial game slips through (say with stolen or ai-gen assets or the like)

Those are off the top of my head, but it'd be a lot of a bother.

Honestly, would rather RMN stay more merit-based for promos. When people start paying money for things they get the idea that they're owed a certain amount of control over it, too, and thus comes entitlement and demands. Not saying everyone would, but it just takes one bad apple to spoil things for everyone. We can do what we can to offset a lot of ills, but we're human and volunteers - we miss stuff.

Marrend plays Final Fantasy 7 Remake!

oh, I agree with the need for something more as a "gg for playing the first game".

over 400 songs on the ost. they just went wild with it and I adore the way they wove the music together, in and out of battle and scenes, the melodies carried through other songs, the new and old stuff. ugh, they went crazy with it.

and yes, no promises to keep caught me by surprise and oof, such a great song.

lest we forget the true mvp song of the game. how do you say bow wow wow?

also, it's confirmed we're getting Queen's Blood in the next game and I am HERE for it. I want a stand-alone game of Queen's Blood. If they're smart they'll market that after they finish the third game because holy shit, is that a fun-ass card game. triple triad, eat your heart out. XD

I know ya'll want an event to celebrate and take the edge off, but let us ensure the site will actually stand up to increased traffic and iron out a few more bugs first. XDD

RMN Stable v: Bug Reports

Unfortunately, moderators cannot change usernames. Neither can base-power admin. That's a coding thing, I think, or at least something that isn't wired into the admin console. Hence why it was recommended to ask kentona.

Hopefully one day we'll get that sorted out.

RMN Stable v: Bug Reports

I found this was an issue when I was using browser zoom on the page, but not when I made it 100%. That may be the issue?

Marrend plays Final Fantasy 7 Remake!

Oh, yeah, carry over data from the previous game/s would be cool. Maybe they'll make an ultimate version after all three games are completed that allow for such a thing, but I think it's okay since the bonding in Remake is a whole different system than the one in Rebirth (and we got the pay-off in both - the date in Rebirth, the night scene in Remake).

Actually, thinking about it more, it's probably for the best. Imagine you got to Rebirth and wanted the date with Barrett or Yuffie but had farmed points with only Tifa or Aerith and that put you too far ahead to allow for that unless you neglect a ton of side stuff. It's probably fairer to allow for people to go after their preferred dates from a blank slate starting point.

Overall I really, really liked Rebirth. Like... so much so that I hope they continue the trend in the next part. The battle system was fun and at times pretty challenging, the side content and bonding was great, loved a lot of the minigames and just the whole vibe of the world and characters. I don't know where we're going with the story but I'm here for it. XD

Also the music is so fucking good.

RMN Stable v: Bug Reports

I made a test commercial game page and it went through without problem. Not sure what is causing the issue, unfortunately.

jokes on everyone - with my free time I started a ton of other new games that I never finished!!! :DDDD
