LIBERTY'S PROFILE

I enjoy playing and creating games (mostly RPGs) and have a love of story and characterisation above graphics. I've been into RM* since '96 and have used all makers - started on the PSX makers, found and used a patched version of the SNES RM, then moved to RM95. When I found RM2K I finally decided to join some forums and I've been a part of the community ever since.

Player touch problem

An easy way to test is to make a test map with an event set to chase and Event Touch. Just put a message in it so that it spouts something like "Gotcha" and see if you have the same problems.

2k3 your way maps, need some answers.

If I remember correctly, I think Sunset Over Imdahl was panorama mapped.

It can look really effective, though I kinda hate the use of it in VX. It annoys me that most of the VX crowd are like "Oh, your map looks okay, but have you tried using panorama mapping. It'd be 10000000 times better. Derhurp" It's a pet peeve.

VX for dummies, accepting requests

Also, remember to include that by pressing F1 when selecting something in the database or event page quick help windows will pop up to give you an idea of what that bit does.
For example, clicking on the Super Guard option under the Actor tab, you get the little message: "Makes using the command during combat reduce the damage received to 1/4 the normal amount. (Normally it is reduced by half.)"

In fact, I may do a short video tutorial of just the database and event pages to show that off.

Really Important Fix Needed

If I had to guess I think it has something to do with the height of the cursors movement. Maybe something with this part:

# ● update_cursor
#--------------------------------------------------------------------------
def update_cursor
@cursor.true_x = self.cursor_rect.x + self.x - 14
@cursor.true_y = self.cursor_rect.y + self.y + 24#16
@cursor.update
@cursor.visible = (self.visible and self.index >= 0)
end

I think try messing with the x/y values a bit and see if they change anything.

I think by custom maps he meant custom graphics/chipsets.

Just a basic rundown of the above template:
- the brown area is for lower chip tiles. They need to fill a whole 16x16 square or the left over parts will be black. Mainly used for walls and stuff.
- bright pink part is for the tiles that overlap - usually trees, plants, decorations, items and whatnot. The first tile needs to be left blank, as does the one at the corner of the brown tiles.
- the light blue tile is water, the dark blue water directions and other animation. The pink/purple is for three four-way animations, like fire or lanterns.
- the green areas are for the autotiles - usually grass, road, black roofs and what not.

I recommend looking at a few other tilesets to see how they're set up and what goes where. Good luck!

Liberty jumps on the LET'S TRY wagon

Not a problem Racheal! I enjoyed the game a lot and can't wait to see what's in store in the sequel.

That said, yeah it's been a while since I last updated. I've been focussing more on my LPs than LTs but rest assured I still have 'The List' and intend to eventually get around to each game on it... eventually being the key word. Hence, I give you, Super Porygon 3D!

Enjoy and keep your eyes out for updates. They may be sparing, but they'll happen!

Where does talk about a new game go?

Gamepages are created for the sole use of promoting your games, keeping people updated. They're easy enough to create. Hover over the "Submissions" link at the very top of the page and click on Submit Game. You need to meet the requirements of the site, which isn't too hard, then wait for one of the staff (usually Magi) to accept the game and then you can add blog posts, pages, screenshots, downloads etc.

Americans are stupid?

I thought it was kinda sad that they got certain questions wrong, like the triangle one and (I am biased I know) their thinking that Australia was France/Korea/etc - though in that case if you looked closely enough you can see that it had been marked as Korea on the map itself. Still makes me wince though.

Then again, I knew quite a few of those questions, myself, but some I didn't, and I know that if I were asked to point out an American state I'd probably get most of them wrong.

Liberty Plays the Legion Saga Sagas (and other classics possibly)

Nah. Each have their own stories, though some characters appear throughout each game. They're all set in the same world, just in different countries, at different times. Playing one, then another will give you an idea of what happened when they reference something. I think playing them in order is best but it's not necessary to do so.
