LIBERTY'S PROFILE

I enjoy playing and creating games (mostly RPGs) and have a love of story and characterisation above graphics. I've been into RM* since '96 and have used all makers - started on the PSX makers, found and used a patched version of the SNES RM, then moved to RM95. When I found RM2K I finally decided to join some forums and I've been a part of the community ever since.

Sorry about that, I forgot to change the links. ^.^;

Now it should work.

The myth of games as escapism

If that is so, then why do we feel inspired to make our own? Why do people write fanfiction about them, or play them over and over again? I'd say that video games can set fire to the imagination just as much as any other type of art!

And yes, I consider them to be art. Art inspires, it makes you think about technique, meanings behind its creation, composition and subject. Can you say you've never played a game and been inspired to create something? Never thought about how something could be recreated and how you'd go about that process? Never thought about the history of the lands presented there-in or pondered on how the characters relate to each other, about the themes that you faced, about the battles or music or anything else that was a part of the experience?

RMN Snews - Issue #19

Great job as usual, Kentona. Nice choice for the hidden gem - I found that one last week and gave it a play through. It was pretty nice. ^.^
And wow! A shout out? Thanks! <3

RMN Snews - Issue #7

This is - yet again - a great edition of SNEWS, Kentona. Good job. ^.^

Nifty Nibbles - Ice Slide

Sure, go right ahead. ^.^ If it helps people, it'll be doing it's job.

Nifty Nibbles - Ice Slide

Just the little fact that sometimes they tend to glitch and look a bit choppy. And if you're going to be using a lot of ice sliding puzzles it's more economic to use just the one event than a whole lot of them.

RMN Snews - Issue #3

Good job on this issue too. It's great to see what's going on in the community without having to venture into the community in a convenient summary.

RMN Snews - Issue #1

Good job on this. Great idea.

A few Common Events

Forgot that little box. ^.^;

A few Common Events

Actually, the forward command works. It moves the way the character is currently facing. The game will freeze if your jump lands on something that you can't walk on, unfortunately.
