LIBERTY'S PROFILE

I enjoy playing and creating games (mostly RPGs) and have a love of story and characterisation above graphics. I've been into RM* since '96 and have used all makers - started on the PSX makers, found and used a patched version of the SNES RM, then moved to RM95. When I found RM2K I finally decided to join some forums and I've been a part of the community ever since.

RMN Fall Podcast (Part 3)

You were the one to kill it, mate. XD

A deluge of letters

(Honestly, either would make it past a check, I just meant to use it as an example of how not to make your work dense and unrelated to the main story - by rattling on and on about the history behind the game instead of, you know, what's in the actual game. We've had a few games that had more than two or three paragraphs of 'historical' content and it's like, okay that's nice but please tell us this information in the game instead of requiring people to read a book before they start? ^.^;

I didn't quite hit the nail that I was aiming for with that example.)

A deluge of letters

Summary and Description are the same thing. It is, however, called Description when you go to submit a game so I kept that term.

As long as you have a well-written description of the game, including at least a paragraph about the game plot, it should be a-okay.

Thought I should leave this here as well. How to plump up your review word counts a bit.

To be fair I was kinda sick when writing this so I might have been a bit more harsher than usual, but a lot of blogs were just announcements or listed updates this time around.

Best of Blogs #025 *DOUBLE FEATURE*

I've checked my PMs, nothing there from you. Maybe resend?

That said, I'm not gonna write what I liked about the blogs, geez. Do you have any idea how long it took me to go through about 140 blog posts? I'm not getting paid to do this, nor is it my 'job' to do so. It's something I picked up to do because I thought it was a neat idea. Besides, the article isn't about what I thought were the best blogs, but about them. They're the feature, not what I think about them. I just pick which ones stand out as being the most interesting/cool/informative/etc.

That said, basically I just open all the blogs, get rid of the ones that are only one or two sentences long or have no writing added, then go through the rest for basic spelling/grammar/punctuation (I can be flexible if the subject of the blog is interesting enough) and look what the blog is about. If it pertains to the project and has an interesting subject it'll go on the short list. After that I'll look through them again and get rid of the ones that don't quite meet the standards of the other blogs on the list. Usually by this point there's only a handful left, so I weed out an extra one or two. Then, viola, done.

Easy ways to get on the list: add images to make the blog more interesting to look at, use proper spelling/grammar/punctuation/etc, talk about a few things in your game or go into detail about one thing. Make it interesting.

As for amount, again, double-feature. At the start I explained that I let the start of the month drop by accident and thus had two choices - only do the end half of the month or do both parts in an extra-big episode. I chose the latter for fairness.
