LIBERTY'S PROFILE

I enjoy playing and creating games (mostly RPGs) and have a love of story and characterisation above graphics. I've been into RM* since '96 and have used all makers - started on the PSX makers, found and used a patched version of the SNES RM, then moved to RM95. When I found RM2K I finally decided to join some forums and I've been a part of the community ever since.

I miss when I was passionate and devoted to game development

Me too, bro, me too.

Look at the mappng shop post for some good tea!

If people want to pay me to make maps for their games, I'm hardly going to say no, as long as the pay is fair. It's a skill like any other, after all! If they don't like mapping and I do, hey, more opportunities for me to actually make some bank off the skills I've spent 20+ years learning.

...and not 23c per 17x13 map like some people bulma think people should make, either, just because "a newbie can make something like that in 15 minutes". Maybe if you're a newb creator you can charge that much but jfc, that's like expecting Yoshitaka Amano to make some art for your game for $15.

Stupid and highly insulting.

After the birthday event I might go on a short rmn hiatus to actually develop something.

You say that, but we all know you'll be back for the LGBTQ+ event two weeks later...

...well, maybe.

Remember when I literally asked RMN to make me a 500x500 forest map for free

You know he won't. Also, wow, I can feel the acidic heat from here. Gonna need to get me some new shades to put up with the ultraviolent rays in that post.

Reading about the Mary Sue in literature has made me super paranoid about the characters I write.

I mean, they should have some faults that aren't "I'm too pretty for my own good", but hey, we all agree there are some bad books out there. Like Twilight. XD

Yeah, if you're writing a book and someone is a literal perfect character that every other character loves and is OP and has all the powers and can do no wrong... you might want to give them a bit of an edit to make them a little more balanced as a character (unless they're the evil guy! :O ).

But overall, I see no problem with living through your characters and writing what you love.

Mary Sues/Gary Stus are fine as long as they're not taken too far and you're not expecting people to fall down all over themselves to praise your writing of them as the best thing since sliced bread.

Got an idea out of nowhere. As for reviewers, we should have gamerscore as well.

It's great to bring up ideas but just note that sometimes they might not be something viable for the site and how it runs, or it might not be something we can or want to do. Still, if you have thoughts, do share them. We have a suggestions forum for a reason, after all!

Makerscore is made to encourage people to make stuff for the site. To engage in the community. To share your stuff with others. There's no need for gamerscore.
