LOCKEZ'S PROFILE

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

The Unofficial Squaresoft MUD is a free online game based on the worlds and combat systems of your favorite Squaresoft games. UOSSMUD includes job trees from FFT and FF5, advanced classes from multiple other Square games, and worlds based extremely accurately upon Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, and Final Fantasies 5, 6, and 7. Travel through the original worlds and experience events that mirror those of the original games in an online, multiplayer format.

If a large, highly customized MUD, now over 10 years old and still being expanded, with a job system and worlds based on some of the most popular console RPGs seems interesting to you, feel free to log on and check it out. Visit uossmud.sandwich.net for information about logging on.

If you import an image using the resource import button in RPG Maker, you can set the transparent color to any color instead of it always being the first indexed color. But the problem Lance is apparently having is that the maker can't use the image at all because it's the wrong format. Importing it in the software vs. just moving the file into the folder makes no difference. If one way won't work, the other way won't work either.

On the one hand this is really nice. On the other hand, the mix of roman and modern numerals is a little weird. You might want to change the 2 to a roman numeral II. But if that makes it hard to read, then this way isn't bad at all by any means.

You have to change the PNG to indexed mode to use it in RM2K3. Open it in Gimp and this is very easy. Go to Image -> Mode -> Indexed and hit OK.

2010 Misao Winners

Nothing wrong with a few retarded and nonsensical categories!

- Best rap battle between a crew of pirates and the British Royal Navy
- Most severely anachronistic minigame that somehow doesn't break suspension of disbelief
- Most zombies able to be killed in under five minutes
- Best kiss (heterosexual)
- Best kiss (homosexual)
- Best attempt at using correct grammar when writing Shakespearean English style dialogue

The only real danger with this is that people will submit categories for which their own game is the only game that could possibly qualify. Like I'm pretty sure I would submit "most creative method of intercontinental travel" or something.

World map!

I can't call this a world map.

Yeah it's more of a partial continent map.

Those buildings remind me of Monopoly hotels for some reason.

Looks good, but why are there no northfacing buildings?

Uh. Because the camera is from the south, and players generally like to be able to see things. Pretty sure almost every 2D RPG ever made uses this trick, so I'm not sure why you're surprised.

How do I set the scale size in RMXP?

Well, with sprites that big, I guess it's equivalent to more like a 250x250 map in an RTP game. Which is still really incredibly massive. If the entire dungeon is on one map then I guess it's almost semi-justifiable. If you have like a tower that's four or five floors tall and each floor is like that, then hahaha oh my god your tower would be bigger than all the dungeons and towns of final fantasy 6 combined.

Through Literary-Tinted Glasses: Enter the Characters!

This is probably a useful introduction to whatever you're going to write next, but on its own it gives very little actual advice. The only advice in this entire article was not to cram excessive details down the player's throat. Which is good advice, but really didn't require an entire page, especially since most of the page is just defining your terminology and ideas.
