Continues to research, write papers and discussing it with no real product coming out of it.
I know people like that and teachers at least give this knowledge to others.
It really depends. On one hand, you really should not say academics are removed from the reality but on the other hand, a lot of them like to play in their sandbox and that is about it.
However, saying those who perform out there know what is up is also... not so correct.
Good old theory vs. practice.
You can write something perfectly cool and have no knowledge how to proceed or manage people to do it.
You can be skilled but very inefficient and scratching yourself the other way around for no reason because you do not know the theory behind it.
Both should go hand in hand.
We can have our opinions but let's pretend we are actually sitting in those comfy parliament chairs. I know I would probably eff it up more than they...

How is this viewed? Unless you have no classes there is always someone at either end of the set. With no classes you still can say who is doing better or is higher.
I guess Penumbra simply do not categorize and what you have is what you have and even a poor person (by our definition/observation) has the right to gain as much as they need to live a comfortable life.
However, you said poor only so I think other classes exist. Middle and rich only?
Maybe like a tribe sort of thing. Leaders and anyone else. Everyone contributing in some way. Collectively.
Probably overthinking it but not sure how should I view this :D
