Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

I'm slowly working on 2 games using Pixel Game Maker MV.
A whimsical platformer that sort of resembles Kid Chameleon.
And a Castlevania game.

New RPG Maker incoming?

I just hope they've been listening to the complaints over the years and taken them to heart..
A lot of people started using a different piece of software all together just to make their maps for MV.
That tells me right there that RMMV got some sh*t wrong.
And has anyone else noticed the suck-ups who come out the woodworks defending products when you have anything negative to say about it?
IT'S A PRODUCT, NOT SOMETHING SOMEONE IS JUST DOING OUT OF THE KINDNESS OF THEIR HEART.
It's within consumers rights to be negative about a product if they've not been completely happy about products in the past.
I owe no elegance to any corporation or company.
It's insane in my mind to suck up to a company and to just be happy with what ever they choose to give.
And no it hasn't happen here.. but I've noticed it else where.

New RPG Maker incoming?

They pretty much just announced the incoming announcement of a new RPG Maker.
If it's another 2D RPG Maker, i hope they fixed the auto tiles.
Auto tiles have sucked hard since VX..
VX VX Ace and MV all use the same annoying layout for auto tiles.
I'm sort of hoping for something more along the lines of Pixel Game Maker as far as tile sets and assets go.
I love the options PGM has for tile sizes, as well as tileset sizes.
XP was awesome.. both in terms of how auto tiles were made "3x3 equal parts" and the size of a tileset could be all you want.
They need to let me choose how many layers I WANT, not restrict me to how many they think I NEED.
It should be my choice.. and i should be able to put what ever tiles i want on what ever layer i want..
VX VXAce and MV all 3 were downgrades in my opinion compared to the flexibility of XP.

Now, with all that said..
If they decide to add "3D" features.. i hope it's not difficult to work with.. and i sort of hope it's all optional.

Sprite work is my most favorite part of game development.. it's what I spend about 85% of my time doing..
I've offered help to folks before.. but there's too much head butting.. i'm giving my all, making beautiful graphics.. and they nit pick stupid sh*t like "why so many frames of animation, i only want TWO" and sh*t like that..
At that point, i just can not keep going.. and i throw my hands up and back out of what's being made..

I never said i was emulating any sort of constraints.. people just said it looked like i was.
I don't like constraining anything..
I despised the constraints that RPG Maker 2000 and 2003 had color wise.
I'm not trying to limit myself at all.
In fact, i despise mesh/dithering pasterns people keep using in pixel art with todays technology.
But someone said my game looked like a SEGA Genesis game, and I was just trying to compare it to something that makes more sense.. considering all the colors i use.

Screenshot Survival 20XX

The thing is, a SEGA Genesis could usually only display 61 colors on screen.
My game has even more on screen than the SNES could do.
Actually, if anything, i'd say it looks like a SEGA Saturn game.
Ever seen keio flying squadron 2? .. to quote tophat gaming man on youtube "Yyyyyeahhhhhhh". lol >_<

Thanks.
I don't mind feedback if anyone's got any.

@MarkusT
Haha, I really like the cartoony look. It kinda looks like a Genesis game!! Looks great.

Thanks.
Funny you should mention the Genesis.
I'm taking a TON of inspiration from Kid Chameleon.

I fixed the ground.. it looked horrible last time.
I think it works better now.
Also, I got these awesome color cycling waterfalls now.

I feel that my pixel art skills have leveled up to an extreme.
The dirt might could use some work though...

The music is fun and fits that obscure snes/genesis platformer mid 90s vibe.

Wait.. really?
I was sure I did a terrible job.
I was about ready to change course on the music and give up the style I was going with music wise.
