Any interest in giving Nakaishi Wars a test-play?

I still haven't included any story-bits in it yet. I know. I'm slow and bad at this. However, I guess I just wanna know where the underlying systems stand before I get any deeper into it?

I can do that if you want me to, but first I have to fix a little mess that was made last Friday (as stated in a status I wrote).

After that, I'll see what I can do.

I should probably get back to actually working on that game too!

Is there a download link to this, by any chance?

I updated that game about a week ago, but, the link to use would be this one.

K, I downloaded the executable, and the only thing it installed was a collection of audio files. Nothing else came out of it. :\

Double-checked this, and, yeah, I have no idea how that happened. It also concerns me that I haven't heard a peep about this issue, particularly considering the blog that concerned that demo's release.

Oh well. I've not enough time to look into this proper at the moment. However, I'll let you know through via posting here (and on the gamepage?) when I've re-uploaded it.

Thanks for the link, and now I'll give you my thoughts. Although I don't have too much to say since I haven't played that much (due to the amount of stuff I have to work on).

First off, I was able to get it running (unlike the laptop I used, my desktop PC has a GPU and CPU that can actually handle games), and there weren't any FPS drops. So that's relatively decent.

Second, the starting battle was a bit annoying. The enemies kept running away like cowards, and it took a while to take them down (even with the strongest attacks). It wasn't hard to figure things out, but the first battle took longer than it needed to.

Third, I don't exactly know what to say about the story (mainly because I haven't gotten that far into the game yet). It was a little confusing at first due to the lack of exposition in the dialog, but I won't give this immense criticism since I still haven't seen that much.

So far this is decent, and sort of feels like an anime version of Battlestar Galactica with a touch of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (which isn't necessarily a bad thing).

I will play this more when I get stuff out of the way. I'm curious on what else this game has to offer.

There's certainly a touch of Star Trek in that game, with a sprinkle of Gundam. I cannot speak for Battlestar Galacitca, though.

For full disclosure, I've only actually seen Gundam Wing, and the metal/material Galaxium (which... might not even be mentioned in the demo?) takes a number of properties from Gundanium. Or... whatever it's called. Sorry, it's been a while!

K, I progressed to the second stage, and I had even less fun with the battles here. :/

They were a bit repetitive, and like before, the enemies ran off into the corners like complete wimps when they realized they were screwed. >_>

I'll continue if you want, but the battles are driving me nuts. XP

I dunno about the AI movement patterns. I think I might have tried to do something with the AI, but, it was to little avail. It's been a while since I've tried to mess with it. Or maybe it just seems like it?

I could try setting the move variables down by one and see if that alleviates anything. Doesn't do much for the actual actions the AI can take, though. If I could figure out how to make the AI target the user of a healing skill, or buff, things might be a bit better. Alas, I'm almost positive that the skill-user is never calculated as part of the viable range for AI skills. Figuring out where in the script it calculates viable range (not to mention figuring out how to actually make it "see" the skill-user) is probably more headaches than it is worth.

*Edit: Kinda sounds to me like you should stop playing anyway.

I'm sorry... ;_;

I'll do what I can to make up for this.
