MATTDK'S PROFILE

I've been an on and off indie developer since 2001. I got my first start with the rpg maker on the sony playstation. I began to think to myself, if I could do this on the computer it would probably workout a lot better and some people might actually get to play the games I make. One google result later, I had found rpg maker 2000 by don miguel. Went by the alias 'dkall' for years. hated by many due to my past indiscretions, but hey that's life. Not everyone's gonna love you, no matter how beautiful you are. I'm a diehard Dragon Quest fan, but I got love for Final Fantasy as much as the next guy.

I'm back now, and working on games with RPG Maker VX Ace, with the intent of releasing commercial games that are cheap to buy (less than $10 titles) but provide a huge amount of quality for their price.

[VX ACE] Gumps QSB (Quest System Basic) Development

I am working on an easy to use Quest System for VX Ace games. It may be freely used in any free or commercial game, and you may modify it as you see fit. For details on ongoing development, see the dev thread over at rm web here: http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/10368-gumps-qsb-quest-system-basic-dev-thread/

Though currently in development, it is ready to use now in your games. See the dev thread & included documentation for more information.

Question: This system is a collection of scripts, and is downloaded as a game demo, a .rar file roughly 2mb in size. How do I go about properly submitting this system (QSB) to rpgmaker.net when its done?

I'm back.

Hi. I recently purchased VX Ace and decided to reconnect to this place right here in particular. Glad to see everything is the way I left it.

I'm working on a space exploration game with RPG elements in it. Ideally, I'd like to get it completed and sell it on steam for like $5 or something. Working on it with a few friends.

The longest part of working on a game that you want to sell commercially: Securing assets for your game, making sure everything is legal.

The hardest part: Why, the programming of course.

If the steam dream ever does come true I'm going to do a game giveaway here on RMN. :)

Windows 7 64bit and rpg maker 2000 = issues! D:

Major issues. From what googling I've done I think this is somehow related to the fact that Im running windows 7 64bit.

My project folder was in the "Program Files(x86)" and I did not encounter the usual rollback/failure to save issues that some people apparently have. I simply run rm2k as an admin, and it appeared to run and save just fine.

That is, until one day, I saved and closed rm2k only to open it again later and find 3 maps destroyed. Set to default size with the default water tiling. I lost a few good hours of work and have not gone back to working on my project since.

So basically, my maps got randomly destroyed. I noticed it was having problems sometimes creating the "RPG_TEMP" folder but I managed to make that work. But now, I cannot do any work for I risk apparent random map corruption. :/

This is not rpg maker PLUS, by the way.... Should it be? Can anyone shed any light on this issue? Should I just graduate to the latest maker? Thanks for your input in advance :)

rm2k level cap

Is there any patches that bypass the rm2k level cap of 50 and raise it to 99? Or alternatively, is there any way feesable to bypass this? Yes there is the command to 'raise level' but does it raise stats as well?

I was unable to find any specific information on this with googling.

I'm hoping I can have a level 99 cap as rm2k3 does.

If there isn't a way already, then I can use resource editor to raise the numerical cap on the max. level field, which would work in theory but you'd also have to raise the cap on all stats to 99 (and anything over 50 naturally wont be visible on the stat points 'wave' in the hero tab of the database). I will do this, and test it out if it hasn't been done already, but I'm hoping there is another way.

So...?

Hello + question

Hello. I'm not new at all to this community but I just finally made an account here.

Anyway, I had a longterm project that was recently canceled and I decided to release the source (it contained a lot of mapping some people could probably put into other projects, and some custom rips and the like). I posted the first source release topic over at woodus dragon den (Its a DW game): http://www.woodus.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=15368

What I'm wondering is where would I post such a topic on the rpgmaker.net forums? Specifically ,a carbon copy of the above-linked topic. I looked at the obvious forum, but it says in its description 'don't post about your games here', and there is no other forum for what I want. Didn't think it really deserved a whole game submission or anything, but I'll go that route if thats what I should do...

So what should I do? :P
