Hey look, it's Zook! Was this a one-time experiment, or were you planning to stream more SMBX games in the future? If so, you might enjoy this game, which was the latest RMN community project in SMBX and also the one with the highest quality requirements so far.

Thanks for the stream, either way!

Edit:
Also, you should submit your videos as Media on this game page. That way, people will be able to find them much more easily. Thanks!

Okay, submitted to media. I hope I did that correctly!

I actually played through the three Super Talking Time Bros. games before this (also on my YouTube), so I need a little bit of an SMBX break for now. But I'm sure I'll get back around to it eventually.

The Last King of Hyrule

Okay, that's a good concept, except that the rooms were bigger than one screen, so there were areas I couldn't see to remember after the timer ran out.

That's interesting that I spent longer in other places than the last one. In the former ones, a lot of the puzzles were designed to be "looped" if you lost the powerup without being deadly. I guess my personal preference is for that sort of design given the limited checkpoints in SMBX. It makes sense, of course, for the last level to be harder, but it just didn't click with me.

The Last King of Hyrule

I apologise if my frustrations overshadowed my criticism, lol.

I disagree that the invisible paths were well-telegraphed, but it's possible I missed something. I think that kind of level design CAN work with many more P-switches. At least one at the start of every room. In addition, care must me taken to make sure it's reasonable that a player can finish the room or reach another switch by the time one runs out.

I also think, given the limitations of the engine, that such an ambitious final stage could have been divided into two discreet levels rather than having so much time between checkpoints

The Last King of Hyrule

Okay, done streaming and now uploading to youtube as a lazy Let's Play.
Overall, it's a solid game. But there's for sure lots of places where I got REALLY ... critical. I hope it comes across as constructive and not mean, even when I do get salty. The fact that I managed to finish it with my limited gaming time and attention span is a good sign

The play list will be here

Hey y'all! I'm gonna stream this starting this week. I hope some of you will drop by. I'll also upload to YouTube and post it here when I'm done. Thanks!

Super Talking Time Bros 2.5 - The Last Levels Review

thanks for the review! :)

Super Talking Time Bros 1+2 Review

Thanks for the reviews!

The first STTB wasn't posted on RMN, so when it came time to release STTB2 and we decided to post it here, we put the two games together because they both used the same custom SMBX install, and to try to expose the first game to more people.

I totally agree about the quality between the two games. We learned so much for STTB2 and improved on the first game a lot.

I tried to join Talking Time once. My account request was never approved.

We've had issues with bots, so new registrations have to be manually approved. You should have gotten an email with instructions how to confirm you were a real person.

We are just about to move servers, which might change the process, but in the meantime, I would try registering again or double-check your email for a confirmation notice.

i want to help with one of your games with the levels.

Anyone is welcome to join on our projects (and it seems like we always have something cooking now), but you have to be a member of talking time. Go sign up at telebunny.net/talkingtime (soon to be available at talking-time.net).

Once you are there, you should be able to find our project pages, but if you have any questions you can PM me (just "McClain" on there).
