What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

I've been replaying the mini-campaign for Shadowrun: Hong Kong because I am still not over this game wanted to see what all I missed when I did it from my bad ending savefile first. (after that I deleted my old saves and started fresh so I could hear the developers' commentary. it was pretty interesting!)

Turns out I missed a lot, like some new weapons that made me wish I had my cybered-up mage go with rifles instead of pistols. ;_; There was also a lot of amusing dialogue including
- "because fuck you that's why" as an actual dialogue option
- gaichu doot doot
- koschei still being too cute

So, they dropped the first Ghostbusters trailer.

I didn't even crack a smile while watching that video. But to be honest, I was never interested in Ghostbusters even when I was a kid, so... :/

ITT we post random pictures from our image folders

I don't have many pictures saved, but I rolled an 11 and got some butts

What's been inspiring you!?

These days I've been into the Shadowrun video games. Some of the concepts and characters in them were what finally helped nudge me a tiny bit out of these feelings of burnout and isolation I've had for months. I really like these kinds of settings where magic and advanced technology exist together.

Dragonfall and Hong Kong feel oddly relaxing for me to kill time while waiting for work to do, so while replaying those, I've been trying to think of my own novel quest objectives and elaborating on some messed up character backstories. I guess it helps a little that the writing style of those games (HK mostly) kind of reminds me so much of my own with Catharsis: heavy on dialogue, with the characters' actions usually described in narration instead of being performed by the character models/sprites themselves, haha. :)

Miss universe... wth?? o.0

I was surprised how a guy who regularly reads answers off of cards on TV can fuck up so badly!

This was the only time I ever paid attention to one of these things because my mom missed the last bit and asked me to look up who won. She was so happy that it was Miss Philippines :)

I think I understand now, thanks. I'll keep it in mind whenever I get back to touching up the artwork :)

The scene is great <3
Something about her face looks very off, though.

In what way?

MVatar

These darker skintones are really limiting. :( I like how it came out, though!

MV is OUT!

I tried out the trial, and...I'm not really feeling it. I ran into a few problems early on, such as ctrl+tab no longer moving around event pages and commands, the middle mouse button can't scroll around larger maps unless you hold it down, animated water tiles lowering the framerate, and the mousewheel feels slow when scrolling up and down the tilesets.

But the main dealbreaker for me is the font rendering. The smoothing effect in the editor gives me some serious eyestrain after a short while, and the faded outline on in-game text looks blurry compared to the sharp portraits and tiles. :<

MV just hurts my eyes too much to use, but oh well. The resolution plugins were interesting to play with, and I liked the modern/sci-fi tiles and this guy's portrait (cute!), but I'm gonna stay with Ace...

Is it worth upgrading to Windows 10?

I upgraded some time ago and I'm fine with it. I like the virtual desktops because I can now easily separate my work stuff from RM stuff and bounce between them :) After I upgraded, I used to have weird things happen like the volume randomly dropping and kernel crashes that trigger sudden reboots, but I think it's stopped happening after I nuked old system files with a refresh install and updating drivers.
(thankfully I never had RM open prior to the random reboots, or my game probably would've gotten corrupted! >_>)

There's also forced restarts on automatic updates,

fwiw, you can stop it from doing that under Windows Update > Advanced options. I'm not sure how long the install can be postponed though
