Memories of Elefee

Oh wow, didn't know all I had to do to win that fight was only defeat the vampire. And thank you so much, I'll download the newest version right now and transfer my save to it!

Memories of Elefee

To elaborate a little more on this, my issue at the moment is that because I agreed to helping the mayor out and it got dark out as a result, all of the shops are closed are closed now and the vendor that was there in the daytime is gone. I can't leave the town unfortunately because I've committed to saving the daughter and I'm essentially trapped in here with no way to level up or buy essential items for the boss fight because I just get the message "we shouldn't leave town." Was probably my fault for not grinding out a few levels more or just being better prepared since I knew the boss was a bit hard, it just sucks because I only used one save file to progress and I'm pretty much soft locked into this town with no way to beat the boss or snag a few more items.

I think it would be nice in a new update down the road if that same vendor who remarks how familiar Risa looks was available, too, at night, albeit with different dialogue to keep things different. Maybe remark on the situation or comment on the bats flying about?

Do love the game, though, and especially love the additional content and scenes, just sucks that I'm trapped here with only one save file locked into being forced to help the daughter and nothing more, and my only real option at the moment is to reset the game and start over.

Keep at it though! I'm not sure if anyone else has that problem that prevents them from being able to advance, so take it with a grain of salt. Decided to look up the game on Youtube since this is my second time getting stuck on the same part, and while it's the older Ace version, I can see some of the foreshadowing you were talking about, and I gotta say this is gonna be quite a nightmare fuel experience if this is going down the route I'm thinking it will.

Memories of Elefee

Keeping an extensive list of things I noticed different from the old one back when I played it last year I believe, as well as my thoughts on the newest version! Hope this helps and that you enjoy reading when you get the chance to.

Interesting how you extended the little "school days" bit in MV where the protag is shown going through the living room of her house and out walking along the streets toward school whereas Ace just went straight to the bumping scene in the locker room. I like the musical piece in MV during this and that you cut the original dialogue from it, I think it flows a lot more naturally and just allows you to watch it all unfold at once. Loving the new additional scenes.

Were those chapter transitions there before? If not, I love the new addition! Adds a lot to the experience.

Worth pointing out Jelly literally runs across the physical walls upon speaking to her and getting the Easter Egg. Unless that's part of the game intentionally?

Omg that Clown that popped up from interacting with that chest, screw Clowns, seriously.

With my second playthrough, I noticed Seyi has a striking resemblance to Karma from Assassination Classroom in personality and appearance.

YIKES, I don't remember that very quick frame after the voice tells Risa to escape where some horrifying looking thing suddenly appears...wish I had taken a screenshot in time, was one of those "blink or you miss it" type things.

Anyway the rest of the game seems to play out pretty normally like usual. One maddening thing so far, though, is that vammpire boss. Not so much because it's just tough, but I think I effectively prevented myself from being able to do anything if you commit to saving the girl. What I mean is after agreeing to help the mayor out, I lose all access to items and ways to heal or level up further which honestly sucks. Though I should have been better prepared, I think I essentially am unable to progress further because I locked myself into helping the mayor and I had saved right after. I'm simply not strong enough and don't have the tools and means to deal with this boss again without restarting my game I think. Unless there's like a secret vendor or something to sell me goods, I'm out of luck sadly.

That being said I'm really enjoying this, and I'm so happy to see this ported to MV! It looks gorgeous, and the animations are crisp and the refined cutscenes and such look amazing. Also through lots of modifying I feel you resolved a lot of the initial issues people had with this game back on Ace with level grinding and such. Keep up the good work!

Memories of Elefee

Been wondering lately when we'd be seeing a new update, and boy was I in for a treat when I saw this crop up in my subscription feed! Can't wait to (hopefully!) try this out tomorrow and see if there are any other significant changes between the original and the newest version.

Please tell me that dog will get a character portrait that looks just like that

Crimson Mind

There's not too much I have to say about the game as a whole, but I left a small checklist of fixes if you plan on going back to edit them out. Very minor things, and only one of them I found distracting. Ta-da!

-The lower part of the lamp in the room you start in can be walked over with no collision.
-In your sisters room, if you go on the bed and walk down or from the left hand side, it is possible to walk on that stack of black books on the desk. You can't walk across it from the front, however.
-There's a bit of a clipping issue if you walk behind the TV in the living room that covers a good chunk of the top of Rilris's hair.
-The house just above yours has a stump that you can walk over, but the other you can't. I assume they're both meant to be impossible to walk across.
-"I can't let him do this to Lea! I knew it, tt's my fault that this is happening."

For a short game, I did enjoy it, and I did like descriptive words such as throbbing to describe Ril's inner lust. Though I can't say I'm a particular fan of either ending and found them kind of underwhelming, I did enjoy the atmosphere and mapping of this little game and just wish there was more of it. More dialogue, backstory, interaction. I think with a little sharper writing you could make the short enough game as is even more memorable, or maybe even a few NPCs that might comment or hint on the state of Rilris's family. Stuff like them being questioned or even having NPCs show concern as to why Rilris's sister looks so beat on a particular day could go a long way in my opinion.

Keep making short stories like this, though. Or whatever you plan on creating down the road. I like stuff like this as uncomfortable as themes like these make me, and would enjoy playing more.

Edit: Oh wow, hadn't really read the description when I downloaded this and didn't realize this was all a series! Are your other titles set in the same universe as Crimson Mind? How many do you plan on making total?

Desolate Faith

This Sunday the newest update is releasing! All of chapter one will be complete at last!

It's been a long while in the making, but as far as the games structure goes thus far, I am quite pleased. Now the nitty gritty of getting the rest of the chapters done shall begin. Already been working on Chapter two as I touch on the last of the first chapter, and with enough time spent per day on it, I'm hoping to get the second chapter completed by November.

Thanks to everyone who has been helping support the game thus far and keeping me up to date on bugs that need squishing! I hope when the final game releases it will be a satisfying experience from beginning to end for you all.

Desolate Faith

The problem, though, is the red switch for whatever reason upon trying to enter up to go past it is treated as a solid physical object, so in the current build if you didn't already snag the Stone build and you complete the Strange Old Man "quest" and try to reenter, it is currently impossible to ever get the Stone skill again. This will be fixed and thoroughly tested to ensure no more problems arise from it.

As promised, the bug fix update will release tomorrow, though, so you can look forward to that!

Desolate Faith

I found what you were talking about. That was so silly, haha. Patched out!

Once chapter one is fully complete I might do something with the snowman thing down the road, but we'll see.

Also, seeing my game played live, toward the end an unexpected glitch with the barrel at the old mans place occurred where it ended up reappearing and blocking off access to the area again, whoa. Messy build, but I'll fix this all in no time! I might also have time to add more to the game like I intended in these next two days, but it might be awfully short of a time for anything substantial.

Played through your actual demo.
There are still many bugs - but at least no gamebreaking ones anymore.

Yikes! Lets see what we got here.

  • After leaving the first town you have to step on the 2 NPC on the little islands to talk to them

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this exactly. Are you saying the player can physically step on top of the two "couples" NPCs?

  • When returning to the forest map after reaching T. Town, Wyatt stands at the top, gladly not solid

Yeah, it's been a rather ugly visual error since the first build I launched. I'll eventually think of a solution to it, because it bothers the heck out of me.

  • At level 6 Davy seems to learn a skill (something with bash) but it didn't appear in the skills.

Just fixed this! Thanks! :)

  • When returning to the sanctuary, the force member (not solid) and the two black summoners stand still there, talking about a gem.

I was not aware of this. I hadn't even thought to go back to the Sanctuary after clearing the area out. I will get this fixed since they obviously should not be there.

author=Firefly84
  • In the Winding Alley is a butterfly in a cave wanting to teach Davy a skill but ended up teaching Wyatt Stone again.

Thanks! To be honest, Davy from a gameplay standpoint is looking really rough, and is in desperate need of an overhaul when it comes to his toolkit. But I'll get this fixed by the next patch!

  • After the battle against the 3 Imps/Demons the sugar won't heal anymore. The offerer stands again at other path like when he first offered the sugar.

Thank you, just fixed this!

author=Firefly84
  • When exiting the weapon shop in Mineral Town you end up in front of the weapon shop in T. Town.

That's a pretty nasty bug. Granted there's currently nothing to do in Mineral Town in this update, but still...anyway, it's fixed now!

There seem to be some Quests - like helping in the item shop or the riddle of the Inn in T. Town - it would be nice to have them really available.

I plan on having some of these available! I'm not sure if you remember, but prepatch you could help out the old man at Everwhite Village to retrieve something. It won't be until all of the main first chapter is fully complete and functional, though. I'm trying to make for a more satisfying main campaign before I even think of going through with my original plan for additional content.

Give me until the 28th and I'll have a patch update ready by then to fix these bugs! Thanks so much for the report!
