[ RGSS3] [ACE] Galv's CFX; Player light source

I just need some guidance from someone that knows a decent amount of coding knowledge and can answer me since I mostly work alone with no coders and also since google has failed me for the last three hours. It's about the shadow/light source part of Galv’s Character Effects V.2.1 http://galvs-scripts.com/galvs-character-effects/.

Can anyone with a modest knowledge of RGSS3 let me know if the light source part of the script can be applied to the Player/actor/character as well as/instead of the events? So that it is the player/actor/character that casts shadows?

I apologize if this isnt the right place for this thread. I felt this was more support for an existing script than a request for a new one.

Thanks in advance for any help.

``EDIT``

THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN ANSWERED ELSE WHERE

Answer:

Use a parallel process that contains a script call:

 $game_map.light_source[0] =
[$game_player.real_x, $game_player.real_y]]

RPG Maker VX Ace - Nugget Crash Course

Well, dropping out! We couldn't meet the amount of game content we wanted, and submitting a very primitive demo would just be silly for me, and my team. We just got a little bit too ambitious, and we bit more than we could chew. I've retracted the entry and I'll probably delete the game page too. So good luck to everyone else!

RPG Maker VX Ace - Nugget Crash Course

Yeah I have consulted with my team, and that'll be the route we'll take for now.

RPG Maker VX Ace - Nugget Crash Course

Damn, my project has gotten too ambitious to finish within that time frame. What to do, what to do...

What's new?

Man, really makes me want to go back to making games on 2k3.

The RPG Music Challenge - Phase 2 results

1 - 80 Fits
2 - 74 Kinda fits
3 - 75 Kinda Fits
4 - 85 Fits
5 - 80 Fits, but has some off- notes
6 - 88 Fits decently, gets repetitious
7 - 84 Kinda fits, Nice tune overall
*8 - 89 Fits greatly, VERY nice tune overall, however at some points it deviates
9 - 85 Fits
10 - 88 Kinda fits, It is a very excellent piece of music, but I feel it's not fully grasping the flashback theme
11 - 84 Kinda fits, It's almost a suspenseful flashback
12 - 65 Doesn't fit, I feel this goes all over the place in various parts of the tune.
*13 - 89 Fits greatly, at times though it does feel like I am in a town, maybe a flashback of a town
14 - 55 Not fitting. It's just very out of place.
*15 - 89 fits greatly, I would have given this a greater score if the beat would have not kicked in, but even so, I love the feeling of it. Good composition.
16 - 85 Fits, it's missing the magic, but it's overall good solid piece.
17 - 79 Almost fits, As someone mentioned it's not defined well, I feel it had potential to become a greater piece
18 - 88 Fits greatly, I loved the basis of it, but the prolonged use of the wind and that wah-ing guitar just distracted me from the flashback i was having. Very good piece overall though.
19 - 84 Fits
20 - 50 Not fitting, More out of place than 14.
21 - 80 Fits,I feel it just fits the theme. It's a good tune, but the fact that it could go along as a happy ending, or a town theme lowered the flashback experience for me.
22 - 75 Kinda fits, but this a nice piece overall. Almost felt like subtle overworld theme to me.
23 - 86 fits, the feeling of a flashback is almost there, it feels as if I am trying to remember something, but it does bring memories, so it goes in hand with that.
24 - 82 fits well, however the sound quality obviously demerits you, and I would've liked to hear a piano or a sting to complete the formula. Overall though, it's a very nice tune.

Tie- Breakah!

8 - 90
13 - 92
15 - 95 I really don't like that beat at the end, however, before that, I was in a flashback of my own.

My Vote: 15

The RPG Music Challenge - Phase 1 Results!

I am not a regular, and i'll vote!

Very awesome pieces. A lot of them were (specially 27), but not all convey that fiery theme. My favorites were 11, 13, and 28 for this challenge.

I thought 28 to be the best though. At first I thought 11 but it was a bit too playful for what I thought to be a temple. 13 is awesome as well, but the piano lows really took away from some spots. Overall I think 28 marks a sacred place for a holy flame.

My Vote: 28

so how is it coming along?

It's slowly being worked on. Staff is working hastily to have all art done by next month and again, hoping to have a demo by Halloween.

There's been a lot of stop point but the project is and will be kept alive.
