Befuddle Quest, all 6 of them. They are community 'games', more like gamepacks, from 2009 to 2012. A good bit of history in them. I participated in 3 of them.

[VX Ace] Triple Triad game based on RMN games?
Triple Triad is a card game played in Final Fantasy 8. Cards have numbers on each edge that need to be higher than the ones adjacent to capture them. It should be pretty simple to make in any RM, if it hasn't been already.

Battling in games, but.. why?
I like gaining Exp through more than just fighting to keep the game fresh. Like Facebook or Hidden Objects, gain points by going places and finding things, or helping out - Nice Guy Experience :). Also collecting things like in many platformers.. toy soldiers/dolls/playing cards/magazines etcetera.

..try basing your maps off of existing maps from commercial games. Not literally tile-for-tile, but look at commercial maps and see what they did and try to figure out why they did it, and then try to do basically the same thing.
The rpgmaker actually renders the blocks too squarish for this concept to work properly. The above image's height was compressed by 10%. The shading needs work too.
