Here's a site that convert midis to MP3s for free...

author=ZPE
So the increased file size is worth the trade off? I'd rather keep midis because of their small file size and that MP3 file, got the original MIDI for it? I'd like to compare the two types.

Well, I almost never get a MP3 bigger than 3 MBs (and those are generally songs longer that 3 mintues), so I would say yes. Most songs I have are like, between 1 minute and 1:30 minutes. Some songs don't even hit a single megabyte.

I think it's worth it. The only problem I seem to be having with this site I've already mentioned: the percussion in some of the songs end up being at piercing levels, and are too loud and annoying. So, you gotta find a instrument set that doesn't suck.

...and I know what you're thinking: they all probably end up sounding like shit. Sometimes, yeah. But, I personally find that only half of the time will you end up with an MP3 that sounds bad (generally because the percussion to too high-pitched, it seems). From what I can tell, if the midi is good, it's converted MP3 version will be, too.

Here it is...

The website (which someone may have posted about before, I can't remember, but I haven't seen anyone talk about it at all, so I thought I'd share) is free to use, but it will only let you convert 10 or so songs until it asks you to sign up...which is also free, so it's no big deal.

I recommend at least checking the site out and converting a few of your favorite songs, because--every now and then--you'll end up with something that sounds gorgeous, like this...

Need help eventing a custom-type of attack

I need help with making an event work right, everyone.

What I want the event to do is this: while on specific "combat" maps of the game, I want the player to use the "confirm" key to attack. The way I want the attack to be executed is holding down and then releasing the button. When the player holds the "confirm" key down, all enemies on the screen will stop and the player then has the ability to face any direction he/she wants before releasing the "confirm" key, which executes the attack.

So...
- HOLD CONFIRM KEY - all enemies stop and the player can face different directions.
- RELEASE CONFIRM KEY - character executes attack (with accompanying animations) then all the enemies start moving again.

Thanks, guys.

Are you 100% sure it's precisely the butt which attracts attention here?

Episode Two: What You Can Expect

NicoB, Forever's End has fastly made it's way into my "top" list of favorite RPG Maker games. It's amazing, man; that's the easiest way for me to say it.

What I'm really looking forward to the most for episode 2 is having the entire cast of party members at my disposal, side-quests, and exploring Dorent (which I didn't expect). Goldo and Lee are definitely going to be in my main party. I may just keep Epoch in there, too...except I had a really tough time finding Upgrade Coupons, so I hope that gets easier somehow.

Things I'd like to say about the game so far is:
- I don't mind the linearity. The fact that you had the player continuously switching who they were playing as, mostly accomplished through the split scenarios, didn't make feel as linear as it probably was.
- The monster catching was a side-quest in and of itself and it was freaking awesome. Don't change a thing about it. On a side note, will there be this, like, super awesome reward for eventually capturing every possible monster in the game--other than the prizes you get for collecting all the monsters of specific area, of course?
- Dungeon design, characters, story...all the RPG staples were good. No complaints that I can think of at the moment.
- I was looking forward to using a cute cat girl in my party--Nel--but it won't kill me if she's never playable. I suppose I second Somareildha's suggestion: make her appear in battle as someone's special ability or something, and it would make most sense to have the ability/whatever-it-will-be to be associated with Cyrus, if anyone.
- Oh, and the game's length is phenomenal. Every other time the game asked me if I wanted to save I thought to myself, "Welp, that's probably the end of the first episode..." Fortunately, I was mistaken. I hope the second episode is somewhere close to if not longer than the first.
- I absolutely love how every character has a unique way of obtaining skills. It's a great way to make every character feel interesting and important.

That's all I can think of at the moment. Overall, though, this is an outstanding game, man. I can't wait to play more. Seriously.

Hey thanks a lot, Mitsuhide! I'm glad you enjoying it. I'd be interested to hear the rest of your thoughts once you've finished it.

Sure thing. =)

Forever's End

Just started playing this game for the first time a few days ago. It's phenomenal, NicoB. The story--yeah, it's cliche, but I don't really judge cliche stories. The characters are awesome.

In fact, I'm finding Lee and Goldo to be among my favorites so far, which is odd to be honest as I don't generally like gimmick class characters in standard RPG's.
