It's not scary and it's not a prank, it will give you a laugh though.

Dante or Nero?

Yes, you heard me right.

Devil May Cry 4 is pretty old by now, but I've just recently started playing it for the first time (yup, serious). I've just passed mission 11 and have started using Dante. For those of you who may not know, you are forced to use Nero through the first 11 missions, then you switch over to Dante.

Well, on to the point; I was wondering which character you folks like more...or perhaps you don't like the Devil May Cry series at all...?

I'd say I prefer Dante. I prefer his easy-going and passive personality over Nero's serious, more hero-typical one. I will admit though, Nero does have a slight edge over Dante when it comes to his attack repertoire: instead of just a gun(s) and sword like Dante possesses, he's also got that azure, demonic arm of his that just kicks ass. However, I still prefer Dante; I just find him much more badass.

So, which character do you folks like more?

Did Anyone Pick Up "New Super Mario Bros. Wii?"

So, yeah, it just came out today. As much as I would like to be playing it right now, my current funds have disallowed me to pick up my reserved copy. To quench my thirst for the game (only for the time being of course), I've been watching a few gameplay videos of it on Youtube.

How about anyone else; have any of you folks bought and started playing through this platforming masterpiece? =D

College Majors, Laziness, and Irritation - I swear this topic is in the valid section!

As many of you may know, I am currently in college. I'm majoring in computer animation (which I've yet to take any classes actually relating to it), but I recently been considering a major change, and here's why...

My one true, enduring passion is creating characters, personalities for those characters, and developing a story/plot and relationships involving them. With a computer animation degree, I thought, "I could just, like, make video games. I love video games, so I suppose I would enjoy creating them." Of course, their was more motivation present than just that sentence verifies. Anyway, I also love to write these stories, characters, and whatnot...however, I've recently realized I like writing much more. See, I'm essentially doing the same thing as my passion with both options (creating video games and writing). Writing is much LESS tedious than developing a video game or even making a simple animation; plus, I'm a much better writer than I am an artist. Since I'm more of a lazy, laid-back person, you can probably guess which one I prefer doing between drawing/animating and writing.

Anyway, you're probably wondering what the point of all this this. Well...

I'm at a crossroad in life. I'm not sure which would be both the better, and the more enjoyable, option for me. Oh, and I suppose I should mention I hate the fact that I'm having to pay a close to $600 bill each month (which covers rent, utilies, car insurance, etc....and I JUST got a new job...haven't even started yet.) I live with a friend in a town much bigger than the one I'm from. I've barely considered moving back with my parents, however, financially, it would be a good move.

Anyway...what are your thoughts? Any advice for me? Helpful suggestions?
I'd really appreciate it, guys.

Problem recording sounds

Okay, just FYI, I'm using a laptop in case that matters.

So when I open either Goldwave or Snagit to record sounds (+ video, in Snagit's case), no sound is ever recorded of the game I'm playing. I CAN record sounds like my voice, me snapping, or even something as light as me setting my TV remote on the desk. It just seems that neither of these programs can pick up a sound that's coming from the computer itself, yet I want it to.

Anyone know why this is happening and possibly how to correct it?

Mega Man 9: Rock Medley - Probably one of the coolest remixes I've ever heard!

Yup. Every song from Mega Man 9 was arranged and played by this guy. Check it out.

Not Another Love Topic: Listen to my story and tell me what you think.

So just here me out. I think I have a pretty unique situation, although I may not. Really I just want to know what you guys (and girls) think of this. So...

There is this girl who, I will admit, I'm falling in love with. I've known her for about a year. She really likes me; I'm not lying when I say that she thinks I'm probably the sexiest guy she's met (this is the truth, I'm not just saying that). The f*cked up part is that were not dating or anything.

She's already engaged to another guy...another guy that she does not love.

She's tried, on more than one occasion, to leave her fiance, but she can't do it. She's too much of a caring person to hurt him that much and trust me, it'll hurt this guy pretty bad.

Just last night she told me that "If things are even remotely possible that I could just be "content" with (fiance), bot even "happy", but just "content", the I will be with him.

That one line was heart-shattering. At first I didn't expect to care for her so damn much, but it's too late for that...I care for her just about more than anyone in my life. I care for her enough to want her to be happy, and being with him seems like she will be living the REST OF HER LIFE unhappily. That makes me want to f*cking cry.

I wish I could rescue her from her f*cked up life. I wish I could so damn bad...but I don't think that's possible. This may be something I don't think I'll even get over and recover from. I'm always gonna care about her...I just wish I could do something...anything...

What do you all think of this and the situation. I just want some input.

(OH AND FYI, SHE AND I HAVE HAD SEX BEFORE...AND HER FIANCE KNOWS IT. YUP, SCREWED UP, AIN'T IT)

Punch Out!! - For the Wii

So it's out and better than ever. I'm playing it right not!

They did alot of new, cool things with it...

There only three circuits, cutting down from Super Punch Out's 4. I won't give away any of the fighters, but most of them you've already seen. Gameplay is, without a doubt, exactly the same as in the original Punch Out; no joke. Good thing too, I immediately switched the control scheme back to the classic NES controls (holding you wii remote sideways). There aren't really any cutscenes, but they improved the training montage Little Mac goes through after each circuit; it looks much better.

Oh! And even after you defeat all the boxers, you can fight them over again in a mode called "Title Defense". All of the boxers are souped up and more difficult to defeat than last time. Even after "Title Defense" there's a mode called "Mac's Last Stand"; I'm not sure what it is exactly, I've yet to unlock it.

There's also a special boxer you can fight in "Mac's Last Stand"; I won't give it away, but he's gonna surprise you!

So...is anyone else playing this? What are your thoughts?

Okay. I have an RM tut fetish. But I certainly don't need help. That shit is awesome

Every now and then I'll find myself heading over to Youtube to check out some videos.

The thing is, I sometimes, for seemingly no reason, will look at RPG Maker 2003/XP/VX tutorials. You know, that mainly cover the basics and simplistic events.

I like watching them...and I don't know why.

Maybe it's because I already know how to do EVERYTHING in the videos and I get some kind of twisted kick out of watching people explain things I could probably explain much better. I don't know.

Is there something wrong with me? This question is slightly rhetorical.

2K/2K3 RTP Music

So, yeah. This came out of nowhere. But...hell, whatever.

What songs do you like from RPG Maker 2000's/2003's RTP?

I'd have to say that I like...
town-square
village4
ordeal
lonewolf
fanfare6
demonic
boss3

...the most

Although, because of their RTP'ness, I'll never use them.

Is there anyone else at all who actually likes some of the RTP midis?
