RMVX ACE: Balcony Battle Background

Does anybody know of a good balcony battle background? (Not looking up at a balcony but from the balcony itself)

I'm sort of thinking of having it look a bit like the fight against "Krysta" in Final Fantasy VIII.

Need help with GIMP. Outlines around monster graphics.

I've been making a battler graphic for Vx Ace but when I import it in it has an outline around the outside. Even though I set the background colour to transparent, there is always one there and I expect it is from slightly blended colours.

Is there a way so I can draw solid colour with no blending happening? I've been trying to edit it with the pixel brush, but with no luck so far.

Making lamps that work (rmxp)

I have lamps in my town and most of the time they're off. However, there is one scene when they're in the town after dark. I having everything tinted to near darkness but I'd like to have light coming from the lamps.

How can I do this because the screen tint makes every event go dark. I put in a light image but that doesn't really do much to help the situation.

Using Final Fantasy Music for a Final Fantasy type game?

How should I credit it if I want to use Final Fantasy music in my game? This is also has not been downloaded from the internet but from the official soundtracks what I have as a hard copy on cd.

I'd like to use the music from Final Fantasy IX but if it's going to cause me a whole lot of hassle after I upload the game here, I'm not sure if I really want to go through all that bother.

What's a good length for a demo?

You might remember my topic I posted when I was asking about a title for my game. This is the same game.

It's still called Planet Guardians because I can't be bothered thinking up a new title right now but the main game is coming along quite nicely.

I'm at a bit of a toss up now if I should try uploading a demo or should I actually get the whole thing finished since I'm on a bit of a roll now. It's probably at the halfway point now where they are now fully aware of the villain's intentions and are readying themselves to brace for an attack, while still trying to complete their other quest.

If I did put up a demo now, there isn't much in the way of armour and weapons but one of the characters magic can more than make up for this right now.

How big should panoramas be, pixel wise?

These are taken using a camera. Right now they measure 2048 x 1536. How far should I scale them down to make them work in the programs? I'm using rmxp if that makes any difference.

I'd like to make them so anyone can use them, no problems. They're in jpeg format.

Can't make the event activate. Odd Problems. (rmxp)

The event requires a switch and a variable to activate. Checking it in test mode, the switch is turned on and the variable is at the correct number but the event refuses to activate. All the other events which it triggers in that area have appeared as they should but the event doesn't activate when the player is at the position.

I have the (on hero touch) or what ever it is called in this one selected.

Help with getting the desired effect (rmxp)

I'm making a cave where I want random shaking of the screen going on in the background. I made a parallel event using variables (random number) to have different degrees of shakes, then a short break and then have it go all over again. I put in a loop command but it only happens once.

It's supposed to seem like small earthquakes going on all the time you're in there.

Giving NPC's something to talk about

Does anyone have ideas for just general dialogue in a game. I mean like going around the town, talking to people, who don't say something related to the main quest or something. Just general conversation.

Help with making a synthesis system

This is going to be like the system out of Final Fantasy IX mixed with the customisation system of Final Fantasy X.

I'm using the fork condition (or what ever it's called now) function to do this but it only lets you have a maximum of one item in the conditions screen.

Here's an example.

Steamed Ring (cast berserk on user) - Requires 30 wolf pelts.

This doesn't seem possible to do, at least from what I can see. If anyone has an idea on how to work around this and make it work, I'd appreciate it.
