nice game ,is it at least 75% done or only the mapping is a issue? i suck at doing maps so i would like to play the game with some major updates in them.

I don't know the percentage of completion but it's not ready to play, which is why we're asking for help making maps.

[RMXP] Mappers needed for snes-style Chrono Trigger like game

I highly recommend also making a blog post and tagging it as a Help Wanted blog - it'll turn up automatically in the Help section of the site. Also, the people who like and are subscribed to your game will be notified of the blog entry and you might find someone there who is determined to see your game finished who wants to help. It's always better to have someone who will work from labour of love than not.

Great advice, thanks!

[RMXP] Mappers needed for snes-style Chrono Trigger like game

I'm the director of Chrono Shift, an RPG Maker game that has been in the works for several years now. It was on hiatus for a while as I had personal matters that needed my attention but now that I have some time for the foreseeable future, I'm trying to get it finished.

The problem is that when we first started, it was an RM2k3 game and we switched engines right before many from the team became inactive. Luckily I have a few dependable teammates that never let go and continued to work in my absence, so the engine is running in RMXP with the sprites and systems we created.

What we need is mappers. Unfortunately I cannot offer any money as this is a completely non-profit game. However, if you're interested in SNES style square enix titles and are capable of making maps in RMXP, I'll make sure you get credit when it is complete, and obviously you'll be able to enter our underground forum where our development resources are kept, including our sprites, our 50+ page plot outline, our original soundtrack, the working plot script, and the game engine, among other things.

Please let me know if you're interested and able to help. We really need dependable people who can deliver some results if we want to release this thing any time soon.

Thank you,
Mr. Bekkler

Yes it is. We're underground and our team is very small now, but progress is being made.

That's a big team!

Yeah, it's big. And yet we still need at least one more! :D

Really, those currently working are fewer than listed, but we have to keep track of contributions and make sure people get credit for what they've done, regardless of how much or little it is.

Thank you, Travio!

It is not ours, it was the image I chose for the title screen in the demo, all I did was shrink it tiny, remove Janus and Schala, and slap the old logo up, we are using official art for the title screen now, and have the new and hopefully slightly better logo.

This game will be finished. The engine change was my idea. I understand your concerns but ultimately this will be a much better game for it. We have a working Chrono trigger style battle system, and very smooth eight way movement that works with a very Chrono like caterpillar script. These things would simply not be possible in rpg maker 2003, and the general user experience would be much worse (4 way movement and stock FF6 style battles don't help set the Chrono mood).

Since he was brought up I might as well mention Lance its no longer associated with the project, and his work will not be included in the game, but the new developer, MagusMage, is very capable. Trust me, we're not done yet.

Please excuse any typos, I'm responding from a touch device.

Elaborate for me. By Dedicated mapper do you mean someone who just makes maps. No events for the maps, no monsters for the maps, just the maps. Right?

That is correct, we have all other aspects covered, we just need good maps and someone willing to keep quiet about the plot and work until all is done and ready. If that sounds like something you're up for, please let me know! It would cut a huge chunk of time out of development! :)

As far as map quality, there is always room for revision, so what we need is speed and quantity. We're using Chrono trigger tiles that have edits that range from minor to extreme.

The teams have been quiet lately on both projects, not sure what happened.
That's intentional. We're not making any real announcements until it's definitely done. I can tell you:
We're well into the script, the graphics and music are almost completely done, we have some maps but will need to recruit another person to help in that area soon, and it's not dead. It's very big and slow moving.
I apologize for those who have to wait, but trust me. It'll be worth it.

Is there a Magus-like character in the game?
Sort of. Not really, but maybe. Kind of. More of an opposite.
