This thread will be used to post my Let's Try and Let's Play videos, in addition to taking requests and suggestions.

One last important feature with my videos: IF I BEGIN ENCOUNTERING TOO MANY RANDOM BATTLES IN RPGs, I WILL DELETE THEM FROM THE VIDEO. This will both free up video space and prevent the viewer from becoming bored to death with me fighting the same monsters again and again.

I prefer to play games that don't already have an LP or LT for the version released. I want to give games that haven't received video feedback priority. However, should you have a newer version (i.e. new content, not just bug fixes) that hasn't been LP/LTed, I might be willing to give it a go (or you are just really dying for me to play it for some reason).

RPG Maker VX Game on the iPhone?

So I came across this game for the iPhone awhile ago:

Now, I'm not really VX saavy, but aren't those resources from the VX RTP? Is it possible someone made a VX game and emulated it to the iPhone; is that even possible? Anyway, the thought of actually making a game on VX, then porting it to the iPhone and making a profit got my head spinning. It would be pretty cool if this was actually possible.

Trying to Understand the Status Effects in RM2k3

Alright, so status conditions have been bothering the hell out of me in 2k3. I'm not sure whether I'm just not correctly understanding how they work or whether they're just broken.

I make a status condition that I want to abate after three turns. I set the percentage that it "might recover each turn" to zero because I don't want it to abate beforehand. Then I enter a battle, and the status condition never goes away! I tried changing the "might recover each turn" percentage to 1% instead, thinking it was some weird 2k3 thing, and it still doesn't go away. I don't get it.

Is the "Alway abates after such and such turns" broken or is there something I'm missing?

RM2k3 Sound Glitch

Hey guys,

So I've had this problem in my game that has been plaguing me for some time. Occasionally, when playing my game, the sound will just completely shut off and not come back until you've restarted. It always happens at the beginning of a fight, and I suspect its the sound file I'm playing right before a battle. I'm not sure if it is corrupt or if there's something else wrong with it. It happens randomly, usually if you've been playing the game for a long period of time. I don't really want to get rid of the sound because I rather like it; and honestly, I'm not sure if that's even the problem.

Any suggestions?

DirectDraw Error(DDERR_UNSUPPORTED)

Alright, so I've been getting this error for awhile now, and it's really starting to piss me off. When I try to play my game, or any other RPG maker game, in full screen, I get this error:

If I restart my computer, the error goes away temporarily, but then returns again at some random time. This isn't the only directx error I've been getting though. After close my laptop for awhile then open it up again, my icons start turning into these fuzzy color pigments, and then eventually my entire desktop turns into this stuff. I'd show you all a pic of it, but it's not doing it right this second (though I know it will soon). It's obvious something is wrong with my directx, but I've updated it recently and it still hasn't helped. I've looked around the internet and some other people have had similar problems, but I haven't found a solution yet. I'm not really sure what to do. Anyone have any ideas?

There's no denying that creating fluid, engaging story for your game can be difficult. Players want to feel a connection with the main characters and feel like their story has a purpose. However, perhaps even more difficult is deciding how to ultimately end the plot. Although, personally, I'm quite a ways off from completing my own game, I still find myself thinking about how exactly I want to end it. A game may have a great plot, but it can completely fall apart at the conclusion, especially if the player feels like the work they put into it isn't rewarded.

So I wanted to ask, what do you expect from an ending? What games do you believe have had good/bad endings? This can include commercial and RM games. Make sure you use discretion when revealing specifics so as not to completely spoil a game's conclusion (use hide/spoiler command).

Ogg Music or MS Echoes?

Alright, I'm in a bit of a pickle here, and I hope someone will be able to help me out. Here's the lowdown:

I recently discovered some patches made by Cherry that allows me to use OGG music files in my game. This would be a great asset, and would significantly decrease the file size of my game (at 150 Mb) and allow me to use more upscale music. Alright, so I've gotten the system working by copying specific files into my project folder. For anyone who has never used this, the key to using the patch is to use the RPG_EXE file provided with the download. In other words, that little icon you use to start your game must be replaced with the one provided by Cherry.

Well that went fine, and I was able to play some OGG music, which is great! However, the problem is I can't change the font back to the MS Echoes font that I used for my demo. I've tried alot of thing. I used Resource Hacker and RM Recker, but I can only change the icon symbols and not the font (at least not that I could see). I tried another program by Cherry that allows you to easily change the font to whatever you want, but it wouldn't recognize the RPG_EXE I have to use.

I know this may sound really stubborn, but I really want to use the MS Echoes font.
So I wanted to ask, does anyone know of a way I can hack into the RPG_EXE file and tell it to use the MS Echoes font?

Basically, what is currently the highest number of downloads for your created game (or games)? I kinda wanna gauge where I'm at in the grand scheme of things.

Forever's End, so far, only has about 80 downloads. I'm thinking the sheer file size of it is scaring people away (or, hell, maybe that's a good amount! I guess we'll see).
