Blackmoon Prophecy II: "The Crystal War" Story Expansion

Damn... I've been delaying starting a fresh playthrough for ages now and now there's an expansion in the works? I might be able to play the finished product when I'm a millenium old grumpy old man. LOL
BTW, that "The Crystal War" expansion is what was supposed be "(Final Fantasy) Blackmoon Origins"? ;)

Alexander needs to seriously change his stylist: untucked shirt? Tie that is tied that the top part is much shorter than the bottom one? I suppose that open shirt is okay, but generally that man is a mess. ;P

Full game download is now out!!

This game is pretty fun, but I'd like to complain that in the first dungeon the timer is a bit too strict for my taste: it was rather difficult to turn on all the switches within the given time, but maybe that was mapping at fault as well since it was rather difficult to come up with a decent way to make to another switch.

Also continuing from the first dungeon where I appear to be stuck I'm not quite sure what I'm supposed to do now: I've got the two platforms floating in the water in the room with the save-only point, but there're these two rooms in which I'm not exactly sure what I'm supposed to do: there's one with a chest where a large boulder is blocking the way to the rocks surrounding it and the other dark room where there's this mysterious metal... door... thing, but there are some bombable boulders there as well. I suppose I need to bomb the boulders in those two rooms but I don't have any bombs on me and can't find more of them.

P6 Blog #12 Updating sprites

The new "Triple Slash" looks a bit like Tiger Blade from Tales of, just with an added downward slash at the beginning of the arte. What about "Tiger Assault" for example as a reference to Tiger Blade? Or would an animal-named arte be not fitting for Zack?

P6 Blog #9 Elemental Dungeons

I can offer some ideas:
  • Fire: Since you said that Fran will shoot fireballs, let's go with that. Have unreachable goblets that need to be fires to open up doors (I know, lame). You could also use it to burn vines or ropes that hold an object (IIRC Tales of Symphonia or its sequel had something to do with that in that dungeon with water and electricity).
  • Water: There could be pits in which planks are located. The player could fill a goblet associated with a pit with water resulting in that pit filling in water as well and lifting the plank allowing the party to cross it. You could make a limit of how many pits can be filled and/or empty.
  • Earth: You could make very heavy objects that require to be pushed into tile switches and/or, like Tales of Zestiria and Berseria, crushable objects that block the path. Or you could lift objects and toss them into distance, also onto tile switches. You know, "strong as earth" and all that jazz.
  • Wind: There could be objects across the ledges that could be pushed away with a blow of wind into some crank or something (the crank could even be used to "transport" objects from an upper level to the lower; think Tales of Symphonia's Martel Temple IIRC). There could also be faraway windmills that depending on the direction its facing unlocks some paths, while locks away others.
  • Dark: You could make something like a stealth game that requires briefly turning the light on to pass through guards (not fightable, they would kick you to the room before, or at the start of that room) within a given time limit.
  • Light: Since it's Light I think colors would be a pretty cool idea. Like you need to shine few colors on an orb (in a ray or something) and mixing the colors to get a new color which would correspond to one of the colored doors.


Hopefully others can also offer some ideas.

P6 Blog #7 Field Abilities, your thoughts?

Like I told you on Steam, you could go with stuff-breaking for the Earth, but now that I think about it you could make it shoot stalagmites to act as barriers, like you could have places where water flows or something and integrating some kind of barrier erecting (and dispelling) could be an interesting take on the earth element. I'm not really digging that "dig-and-find-under-yourself-caves".

I think Tales of Zestiria have items for both enemy repeling and attracting items and a few characters have support talents to attract certain enemies, so I think you shouldn't probably worry that much about it.
