Final Fantasy Essence 2k3

author=Celes_Cole
Currently working on a goblin sprite!

How does it look? Any thoughts?

Looks pretty nice, but perhaps it's a bit too tall? I'm kid of used to goblins being more of human child-height at most and this one seems like adult human-sized. Still, there might be some deviations within your setting from a traditional FF things so I'll be of open mind.

Besides, I played the demo and noticed a few types in that opening kind of like thing where you show different locales and characters. Like others noticed, Xavier needs more flesh out in the intro; right now he's just kind of a vengeful spirit and nothing else.

Aside of that, I found the Crystal to be a peculiar... being, for the lack of a better word. It's a crystal alright, but it's sentient and my first thought to that was: "Oh, it's like fal'Cie from Lightning Saga! I wonder how the story will continue!" and then BAM! The demo ended. ;_;

However the most flabbergasting thing is that you're remaking the game in RPG Maker... 2003. You could put in a newer engine and yet you still chose RM2k3... Personally, I'm not too fond of that engine because there's very little control over damage formulas so effectively the balance is completely out of the window, but that's just my opinion. If you'll be able to somehow make the battles not too broken it'll be miracle. Perhaps you'll planning to go with UPRC way: weapon ranks which increase damage multipliers with higher ranks so weapons are not useless when compared to skills...?

Theia - The Crimson Eclipse

Good to hear about camp.

I got to understand the weapon reforging, but all in all it's so simple that ironically it's initially too hard to understand it (at least for me).

So you rebuild your original game from ground up? Impressive.

Also, I wonder if the voice overs for battle and some cutscene grunts where from some open source site or something? They certainly enrich characters.

Theia - The Crimson Eclipse

I really appreciate how great the game is. Just because I say "having this would be great" doesn't mean "put it there right now!!1!!11!" It's more of a "please keep it mind for future projects".

I totally forgot to say I love the idea of camping and how interactions with your party affect Seth and the other character's stats, but also that you sometimes learn new skills.
Also regarding camp, I still haven't exactly figured out how those "Atlas orbs" or whatever they're called that can be made/bought at that traveling merchant. Is that supposed to be kinda like FFVIII where weapons are remodeled into completely new weapons?

Also, I scored "Theia Trivia #1" at the Auction House and from what I gather this game is a remake of an old project made by someone else?

Either way, this game is pretty amazing so far and I wish you all success in your future endeavors. ;)

Theia - The Crimson Eclipse

I'm 9:30 hrs into the game and I must say I love it, especially the moments where you highlight missable content in an area which is definitely a plus. Although I must say I wouldn't mind if you put some kind of "story indicator", like a highlight on the world map of the next plot-crucial area or as a text that appears when pressing a button, like (possibly on-existent) "Find all the sheep around the city of Mistia." That would certainly help since I'm often like, "what the hell am I supposed to do now?"

SO IS THIS GAME DEAD OR WUT WTF MAN PLZ GIVE
Negative.
Good to hear, although I wouldn't complain about some kind of progress report, if it's not too time consuming. I honestly can't remember the last time there was an update.

Final Fantasy Discovery

I noticed that "RSW Bug Reports" and "RMN Soundtrack Voting" take you to the site's homepage so it might be a good idea to remove them from the directory.

Also, not sure if you're still taking music suggestions for the game or not, but might as well be just good for listening once in a while:

Lie of Caelum

I'm kinda stuck: while the first scene with the airship flying across the sky and people talking loads just fine, the next scene loads for an eternity and still loads and I'm not sure why it's taking it so long.

Four Eyes

Great gameā™„ Although the pacing was a bit too fast for my taste, mainly I think that Jett falls for Toa a bit too fast, I could use a bit more drama there aside of that lab thing. But oh boy, those boys are cute. And Jett kinda reminds me in a few aspects, but he's better than me. OTL ;P
Also, Irene is hilarious ("I thrive on drama" ;P ), although appearance-wise she reminds be too much of Serah Farron from Final Fantasy XIII, don't know if that's intentional or not.

I'd love to see a sequel to it, with an epic story!
