NOVALUX'S PROFILE

Hey, Novalux here. I'm planning to make some games someday, if I ever get around to finishing them. I enjoy trying out others' games on rpg maker as well and writing reviews.

This is already in progress and sign ups are over. There's always next time.

Will do. Sign me up for reserves in the 2nd jam, if you can, just in case...

No Gold for Brigands

I found some notes I took while playing this game a while back. Unfortunately, it crashed 3 hours in and I lost the save file. I'll do my best to make sense of what notes I have.
Main Points:

Dialogue was kind of grating/ cheesy, especially with some of the lines that emphasize Niko's cat nature (e.g "Maybe if you're a good kitty I'll let you have one later." ) That being said, there were some exceptionally good lines scattered here and there. Pretty much hit-or-miss.
The mini-games were a big surprise, very much in depth.
Niko's "crafty" personality is great and shows through at times but needs some work, sometimes overshadowed by cliched lines, too much naivete.
Bernard Steven Fitzgerald the Fifth. What happened to the rest of the puzzles? I thought he'd be laying them out all over, or there'd be some sort of continuation to this. Then again, maybe I'm missing the point of the game.

More Notes:

I would like more options- begins to open up later in the game, but still...
More puzzles for the puzzle master? or perhaps different maps? I mean, I was surprisingly addicted to the one maze, but something different/a twist would be nice.
I Like having to actually want to buy the instruction manual.
"The captain never pays any attention to me, I wish he would scratch me behind the ears sometimes." MVL (most valuable line), coming from Gregor.
I liked the sense of expanding opportunity you got from going on the sailing ship. Though I'm not sure where it was going after that, my notes ended.

Memories of Elefee

Did anyone else freeze when princess exited the throne room and talked to trainer for the first time? Trainer just kept walking to the left and princess couldn't move.
Could you double-check the events you step on to leave the throne room?- because I tried it again from the side and it worked.
Either that or my computer glitched it out.

McBacon Jam #1

Finally! My chance to let somebody else do all the work and claim I helped!
Sign me up for the Reserves, boss.

Qualifications:
Time
...yeah that's about it.
I'll be glad to serve as some team's unneeded appendix and help out with mapping, character design, story-line, or whatever else I can.

Alice's Deserta

This has been ignored for a while, huh? Played and submitted a review. I really enjoyed it. :3 Nice work.

Huh, it's been 10 days and they haven't checked out the review? Guess it is the holiday season, but...

Phate

Question: How long would this take to complete (approximately). Also, seems like the description could use some work. You should add a flashy neon "features" sign, that tends to attract people.

Let's Draw a Pass-Off Comic! -Finished!-

I feel like next time there should be some basic ground rules, like no dreams/ "oh, that didn't really happen" moment, because then the story gets sidetracked/ hijacked in different directions. If you want to do something, make it so that the reader can follow.

Afterlife: The Second Dimension

Just finished playing the first hour or so, some quick first impressions/notes:
Music is cool
Why have icons when full character portraits are present? Contradicts facial expressions.
Bad grammar at times.
WAY TOO MANY CAPS. Caps are for two, maybe three scenes in your game at max. After a while they become grating, loose any effect.
More cliches than *insert comparison here*.
Nice GUI
Not enough character development.
Interested in the back story, not so much because its original, but Yuna's reactions to it (not what I was expecting game to be about).
Did Yuna know this guy well, or just a random classmate? The relationship starts extremely quickly.
Maybe just me, but the jumpscares are effective. I never liked Jumpscares.
No running lets you respond to jump scares just in time, instinctively Rush to hit shift key.
Characters are stock characters so far, nothing all that unique about them.

Sorry to be harsh, but that's the impression I got so far.

Linus: The Forgotten Days

I really wanted to review this, but with 3 reviews already and so many games without one... that's just unfair. Still downloading, maybe I'll post some notes.
