Should the last boss be super challenging?

A final boss should be challenging to a point--the characters shouldn't necessarily be lv. 99 and have the best everything, but at the same time, s/he shouldn't be a pushover, either
I agree with this. The final boss should be challenging - especially tactics wise, but in no way should require max level and the best equipment. Requiring maxed stats and gear is better served for an optional boss / post-game boss.

Granted, he's kind of a simple boss, but should still pose a threat to a party who may be unprepared; if he decides to spam stop-based abilities you're damn near screwed. Well, that's assuming everyone's not equipped with something that nullifies that status ailment =P
That's ok! He's easy in Legacy of the Lost too!

The Official Walkthrough is now complete! It was quite a task to compile the walkthrough, but it was fun it it's on way, I guess! :)

While I like the Legend of Zelda better, almost everyone knows who Mario is, regardless if they play games or not.

Ahh yes. I did get that screen with the password. Have to say I did not think of editing an instance myself and adding it. I think I'll pass.
But if you want to release a patch that adds the chest, I will be happy to test (especially if it works with my existing save files) :)
You know, I could do it that way (without requiring any editing) for that version after the game was cleared. :)

After I was done the bonus content (searched very carefully) I still had not found the Hero's Shield - and unless I am off on this, there is no way to create a hero's item, they have to be found, and then they can be used to make Legacy items. Did I miss something?
You are correct. :) All of the Hero's items are pretty basic, almost useless, until you upgrade them into Legacy versions.
When you clear the final encounter in the game though, it generates a password for you that, if sent to me, I'll give you an editable version of the game. Unfortunately, due to my oversight, that'd be the only way to add a Hero's Shield into the game! :(

I was never able to find the hero's shield either. (Did get the relic quest one that halves MP and whatnot, but not another special one.) Does it actually exist?
If so, and we aren't just being oblivious - my theory is that the 41st TinyMedal I somehow wound up with (and - sorry - didn't keep track of which I found that wasn't in the walkthrough) was supposed to be the shield.
You know... I actually think it might not exist. The recipe for it is there and I could've sworn that I had made it several times, but I was able to find like 2 old files of mine and neither of them had it. Aldain only had a Dragovian Shield on.
As for the 41st tinymedal, I knew that was there and it wasn't supposed to be the location of the shield. That medal was originally an oversight, but I thought it was kind of nice to include it just because the Killjoy Slime's medal can easily be missed.
I didn't check every chest's item in the game, but I checked all the chests I thought I would've put the shield. I honestly thought it would've been in the catacombs along with the Hero's Armor.
I guess the only way to get the shield will be for those who clear the bonus scenario content. I hate that!

Orias: any chance of you finishing the official walkthrough up to the end of the regular game any time soon ? I would love to see what I missed (I never managed to find the Hero's Shield, for one, so I am sure I missed other things too). And thanks again for a great game!
I'm really glad you enjoyed it and very much appreciate the review! I do plan to finish the walkthrough eventually!
I haven't worked on it in quite sometime, been busy at work & a few new games came out that I've been really into (Lightning Returns & FFX-2 Remaster). I'm actually on a break now so I might can make some progress on it. :)
