Thank you for the review!

I do tend to gravitate toward duo stories, and overall I see Nachtheulen as the stronger offering of it and ReCrisis's available build. I hadn't thought about how structurally similar they are as games (mostly because ReCrisis is no longer an RPG in my current dev build).

As a little side note, the wings are part of Leander's coat, and the 'tail' is Fionn's hair.
Oh well, yes, the similarity was only about the "mercenary duo" theme (one cyberpunk, one fantasy).
Ah whoa! I totally expected these were true wings and tail! Like they were a vampire-bat and a vampire-wolf...

Aha, nope. Leander can grow wings under certain circumstances, but otherwise both are visually 'ordinary' at a glance.

They are technically differing species (Leander is a pureblood, aka was turned by the vampire Progenitor/vampire god, while Fionn is a second generation vampire {was turned by Leander}. There's not much degradation in power between generations, though there is some. Some of the lore in this game I've changed in terms of the overarching plot of this world (mostly the idea that werewolves are new), but the above has remained true.

Cosplay Crisis Review

Crazy to think this game turns 10 years old in a few months, hm?

It shows its age in a lot of ways. I have considered re-releasing a better and less buggy version a few times, but I've always been like...it's been so long at this point, and I think at its core there are issues that would take many man hours to fix, or coding ability I do not possess. I'd be better off spending my time working on ReCrisis or ReEvolution-- which while not cosplay centric or fangames, they are more faithful to the story I ended up wanting to tell, to the story shown in the second half. The noticeable improvement in the writing as the game progresses is blatantly obvious, and from a personal and development stand point, I've always believed the strongest elements of the story told with CC ended up being only cursorily associated with cosplay.

At the end of the day, I'm always really happy people get enjoyment out of this project, and still don't fully understand how I ended up completing a full-scale RPG with how much in the game was custom. Its length and scope combined really show where my failings as a developer lie (and still sort of do, though there is a big disparity to the me of now and the me of ten years ago). At the end of the day I'm proud of the accomplishment, as bug-riddled and at times frustrating as it is, and I really appreciate you reviewing it!

Fragment Review

Thank you so much for giving Fragment a review! I'm glad you enjoyed the experience, as I set out to make something short, sweet and completable (I usually design battles a bit into the harder end, but I wanted the game to be on the easy side due to it being for an event.)

I have considered making a sequel, but I've got a couple of other projects in the pipeline that are more important. We'll see ;)

Nachtheulen Review

45 in total. Leander was 17 years old when he was turned and had been a vampire for a good ten+ years already when he met Fionn. So even though there's only a four years genuine age gap between them, Leander's been a vampire for a decade longer than Fionn.

So he's not particularly old, but he's been a vampire for close to thirty years.

There's also other things (such as his magic proficiency) that come from them being two different types of vampire. Fionn is a common breed and Leander is something else. Leander does not talk about his maker at all to Fionn or the circumstances of his turning. In short, Leander's maker didn't stick around, so he was left to fend for himself with disastrous consequences.

This is all stuff I want to rewrite and cover properly, because it is pretty damn important. In the working 'Complete' version I had Leander's past was covered in a bit more detail, but I got stuck.

I have documentation for both of these situations (I went and found Fionn's original turning scene last night because I was afraid I'd lost it). I'm still wondering why I changed it to be quite honest.

Nachtheulen Review

Thank you for the review nhubi! I've been wanting one for this game for a while so it was a great surprise for me to come back to (I've been on holiday for the last week).

The flashback...I have no idea why I made it that way, aside from possibly going 'I don't have time to do the actual version'. That reveal and some of the facts around it I have to retcon a little (or a lot), but it'll be a retcon of a retcon. I wrote Fionn's ACTUAL turning scene a long while back (its on my HDD somewhere, I may post it here).

As for Fionn's name change, for him it was kind of a rite of passage. The human he once was is very different to the vampire he is and the vampire he will become. Leander also ends up going by a different name, although much later.

Additionally, Fionn's appearance and basic 'mold' is that of the VX hero Ralph.

Which is why his former name is Ralph. Essentially, he had a deeper dislike of his origins than Leander did, so he changed his much earlier. Even in the future, Leander still occasionally uses his real name, whereas Fionn refuses to.

Leander's not old in this game-- about 45 years old. So a middle-aged man by modern standards and a bit on the old side by their standards. He was born in 1248. I'm wondering if I should dial him back a bit on the worldy knowledge (he knew a much older vampire for a long while before he met Fionn).

Thank you very much for the review! I'll keep this in mind no matter if I simply move on and make Blood Rose or if I ever finish adjusting this game.

I'm actually pretty pleased you're the one who played this, because this is in the same verse as Lucidity (albeit separated by six hundred years and a couple of reincarnations later, but still the same verse)

ReCrisis Review

I was meant to take it out but ended up leaving it. It's sort of a tumblr reference *shrugs*

*and i meant 'kumo and levi don't look exactly the same in comparison to cloud and squall*

different clothes, different builds, different hair cuts, facially different (though its hard to capture that- Kumo's descent is essentially a Japanese/European mix, mostly their world's Japan's equivalent, and Cloud is modelled as European. Cloud's face is longer and sharper, while Kumo has a round face) different weapons, different skillsets, different backstories. Levi shares eye colour/skintone with Squall. Kumo shares hair colour, and they share a few outfit elements (fur collar and turtleneck).

ReCrisis Review

If it's anything to go by, I've been able to entirely remove the cosplay factor from the plot and still keep the story intact. Cosplay Crisis had a pretty long dev time and switched about a lot during that, so by the time the game was finished the cosplay element had lessened. You run around in costumes for the latter half of the game, but the actual convention/cosplay plot element happened 3 hours in and wasn't really mentioned again...oops.

Anyway, I really appreciate the review! The battles definitely need an overhaul- I was strapped for time, started late, and I had yet touch the skill structures for the game so I just threw something together. Its definitely going to change from here on.

ReCrisis Review

Thanks for the review! I really enjoyed it. However, I do want to kind of say that in terms of design, I don't really think Kumo and Levi look exactly the same? Similar, sure, but similar on the lines of Cloud and Prompto more than Cloud and Not-Cloud. At least, this is the first mention I've gotten since this game was released. I could probably take a few more deliberate steps, but aside from a fur collar and a turtleneck the designs aren't that similar.

Are they?
