There is a program that makes BMPs of maps called "LMU2BMP".
The second one sounds like RMTool; I'm not sure, however, as I've never used it.
You can find both in this topic: http://rpgmaker.net/forums/topics/1655/

No idea about the FF game.
Were the battles side view? Did they look exactly like the one's in the original?
Thanks!
Like dethmetal said, the visuals in the comedy remake were completely retained. For example, in-battle, the backgrounds were ripped straight from FF1 with characters on one side in a box and enemies on the other. It was pretty faithful except for the comedy aspect.
Targeting system in the DBS?
Targeting system in the DBS?
Yes, it's for 2k/3. :(
And the skill is supposed to target an ally. Is there no way to do so even using a preset (and unchanging) party?

Targeting system in the DBS?
I have a skill that needs to active a Switch and I was wondering if there was a way to define a target for the skill using Pictures, Input Key Processing, and Variables , as opposed to Message: Choose a Target, Show Choices: Char 1, Char 2, Char 3.
I don't need a tutorial, just a general idea of what to do. Even an example from a game works. Thanks for any help.

Importing resources
You can copy and paste all the resources into the folder yourself, but you'll also have to determine the transparent color through other means.

No-Star Reviews: I did, and you can too!
I keep pulling out insanely hard games. The latest one I've tried, Elegy's Eve, is pretty good, but still difficult.
