The Legend of Blockman Review

Holy shit man, you make me want to continue this thing! I've done so much to it.

It was a combination of an uncertain future for RMN, the fact the Sphere Forums (Spherical) got nuked, and a lack of effort from me since college was getting into full gear that made me stop.

I'd love to continue this. I still have all the files, and I still work on it in small capacity from time to time.

I might just continue this.

I'll add, in my current development version:
1. No more mouse in menus (fully working under gamepad!!).
2. I've redone the graphics.
3. I've redone enemy AI.
4. I've redone some menus.
5. I've remapped a few places.
6. I've added pixel perfect attack animations, so combat feels tighter and more accurate to LoZ/SoM.
7. Plus many minor fixes and tweaks to the gameplay all around.

StarFront: Factions Review

Thank you, it's been here for a while. I'm glad you took the time to try it. It was more of an atmospheric proof of concept. I still have thoughts of expanding it one of these days. :)

There's a reason some games don't get reviewed. One good look at the screenshots and you can see just the kind of effort put into it.
True, but why do some games with excellent graphics don't get reviews, while others with mediocre or banal graphics do, that seems to be the real problem!

Sorry, this is after all my first review. And, it's people like you who are one click away from giving those games a just review! ;)

So you still found it suiting to review this knowing how bad it will likely be and base it around the five or so minutes spent playing it?

I bet you made the author feel good about himself. It's fair to give any game at least one review. No stars = unknown while one star may tell you something. Aren't there more important things to discuss... Jeez! We can't be elites here or otherwise there's no such thing as one or two stars. Think about this for a second you are bitching over someone elses review that is not yours, so drop it.

Release date?

Quite soon. Quite soon.

Well, I had no lags of any kind. Like I said, I thought the cleanliness of the screen was a positive aspect of this game. "more stuff on screen" is not really an improvement in my opinion.

I don't mean clutter. I mean more bullets, enemies, and turrets can be drawn on screen. This doesn't dirty the screen, I think you're thinking too hard on it. :P

Check out the screenshot in the screenshots thread for a look, because it really hasn't changed (in its fundamentals, that is).

optimized code (=more stuff on screen).
I don't think that's really necessary.

Uhh... thats definitely not!!! The code was really bad at some places. Unless you have a fast computer, at around waves 30-50 my older computer slowed down a lot. Also, I did get better at programming over the years. I find it strange you call an improvement unnecessary <blank stare>. (It makes 200 enemy survival possible on my computer).

Hold the Line! Review

Hey, you've inspired me to work on an updated version of this game!

It has:
map scrolling w/ mouse.
6 levels. (2x more)
updated graphics.
optimized code (=more stuff on screen).
200 enemy survival mode.
more songs, rather than just one repeating.
better enemy health bars.
tweaks to the balancing (much easier to begin with so that higher waves are reached a little sooner).
right clicking on an enemy will force-fight that target. (useful for sniper).
rocket launcher turret.

It might have:
bosses.
more 'spells' (if you didn't notice them before). I might remove them altogether.
more turrets (hard to come up with interesting ideas b/c these five are balanced fairly well).

Thank you. I'm very much appreciated that you made a second review for this game!!!

It almost makes me want to do a follow up where I address all of the concerns and add more units and levels (which I had always planned to do but then got sidetracked, and released it anyways).

Its also an older game of mine and I know I could do much better today. :)

Hold the Line! Review

I appreciate your review of this game and the score is better than I expected.

The "rate" refers to the time between shots, so a lower rate meant shorter time between bullet fire. So I should have called it "cooldown".

I was going to expand on this but had a lot going on. Though the future does look a bit bright for this game.

Well deserved and thank you! :)
