Legionwood 2: Rise of the Eternal's Realm

author=Dark Gaia
Hi!

I have no plans for passive abilities. In Legionwood, most anything you'd want out of a passive ability comes in the form of equipment.
Will there be a way to enchant equipment then to add extra effects or even stats?
As for status conditions relying on the caster's stats... it's not currently implemented that way, but I like that idea. It'd probably take a bit of scripting to figure out though, so it may not be implemented in the first release.
What about duration? Will it be static or will it be based on something?

The battles will be longer than most games, with more strategy involved but more rewards and EXP. I don't want battles where you win after three rounds of clicking "Attack" - Legionwood 1 was close to what I want from this, battle wise.
I fully agree. How will encounter rates be effected though? I'd hate to have to spend more time in battle then actually getting to the desired location lol.

I agree that the multi-target spells tended to be vastly superior to single target. Battles in LW1 for me always ended up being spamming whatever the strongest AOE spells I had. Maybe there could be a resistance to AOE type spells? For those units that tend to spawn in groups of 2 or 3 maybe they can get a resistance to it while the swarm types that show up in groups of 5+ don't?

Princess Princess

so when's the last time the download was updated?

Legionwood 2: Rise of the Eternal's Realm

Have you any plans for passive abilities? Also will debuffs like poison be based on enemy health like most games or will it be based on the caster's abilities? I also think it could add some depth and strategy to battles if the duration of status inflictions were dependent on the user's stats instead of given a specific value.

Another thing that I thought of is how will battles be laid out? Will they be short and numerous or on the longer side with greater rewards?

Outlaw City

ok so i was playing the game and i couldn't figure out how to open the bottom gate at the end of the first sewer... is it even possible to open?

Aetherion

Any chance of us getting a possible release date or percentage of completion? The more info the better :)

edit: one more thing, will saves from the "pilot" be transferable? I've been wanting to do another play through since it's been ages since the last time i played (on a different computer too) but then if i do the entire beginning of the game will come of as tedious and annoying to me. (i hate replaying games when i already know all the story :( )

edit 2: watched the talents video again. i really can't wait to get my hands on those d: wishing you left each skill selected for a few seconds so i didn't have to pause as much though lol but it's no biggie... I'm also wishing that we could have seen alaria's talents too. though i think from the first 2 sets i can guess what a few of hers would be.

edit 3: also i was just thinking about that whole issue with needing to pause in battles, as it stands the game pauses if you press f1 or click out of the window right? personally, if some sort of lag time is needed maybe some sort of a focus mode could be used where it just slows down combat instead of stopping. i really liked the whole nonstop action end of the battles where you had to plan in advance and anticipate your enemies actions. it makes it feel more like a real battle instead of a turn based (which is sort of what it is now with the game pausing)

edit4: so i decided to do another play through... anyway after the whole debacle with the passport i went around to talk to everyone. Only problem was when i was done talking to the girl in the green dress she then decided to stop moving... right in the exact WORST spot for there to be an immovable object. between the lower right corner of the platform and that plant. Restarting the game now... it would have been interesting for there to be an additional exchange though for those unlucky few that get stuck in this position. maybe eden asks her to move and unknowingly offends her? just a little easter egg of sorts :P

edit 5:whats the max level for the pilot?

edit 6: just got done beating the final boss on insane... it was a lot easier then i thought it would be. total game time? 2 hours. I used a spirit build for Edan, a power build for Flynn and a debuff build for Alaria (I switched the unique items of Edan and Flynn) I spent the first 3-4 rounds buffing characters and then from there it took me another 4-5 rounds to actually kill the boss with all 3 people attacking. Its easy if you just ignore the phoenix aspect of the boss.

Is there an updated download with the mechanics updates available? Or perhaps you're looking for beta testers( :D )? Either way I can't wait to dig into whatever updates you've posted since the "pilot" version of the game.

The Tiamat Sacrament

Love the game. The high amount of comboing was very nice to play with though I didn't get to far. Reason? The game crashed after an hour long grinding spree right after finishing the third temple. Normally this isn't a problem but when I go to play again my saved file is ERASED. What do I do? Delete the game and move on. I'm sorry but I just can not stand to replay games so soon after starting them. Story is a big thing for me and I get bored really quickly is there is none.

Also, the individual maps in the badlands are to large for how many of them there are.

And the lilipad puzzles almost made me delete your game right then and there. The only saving grace was the walkthroughs you had.

Finally, there needs to be an item to be bought (or found) that increases rune capture rate earlier in the game (before you lose the girl) for those of us that spend time power leveling. I discovered that it was easier to get runes from fishing (with the lure) then capturing enemies. (and somewhat more enjoyable too)

Either way, it was a great game and if you were to create an updated version I would probably consider playing it again, but as it stands I dont think I will.

Oh and for all you grinders out there, there is an invisible option that enables auto battle. Though I'm thinking it MIGHT have had something to do with my saved file being erased. I suggest making the auto battle a visible feature though.
