RINE'S PROFILE

Game designer hopeful. Have designed several tabletop RPGs, and have long wanted to start into the video game space.

My focus when designing is to create challenging experiences that force the player to make difficult choices, and change the paradigm when someone thinks of an RPG.
Binding Wyrds

Yes, unfortunately RTP does little to convey modern settings :P At least I think the train stage comes close to what I actually want it to look like.

I've actually found as I've created my characters I keep tending to err on the lady end when I'm making them. In my design notebook they're gender neutral at least.

Though technically, the picture shows the tutorial characters with their stand in RTP sprites, two men, two ladies. One vampire, one blooded, one magus, and one cleric (not the healy kind, the Catholic special forces kind).

Took a look at the review. Key point of difference might be I'm going to stick to that only for missions, where the player character might not even be. Definitely not doing it for extended dialogue. I will keep it from sections where the game itself tells the story fine (IE, in elimination missions, its not needed for each monster you encounter, you know why they're there)

I'm doing combat in some missions like that. A quick vignette styled text that tells you what is going on. I think it helps to convey the story in the short missions better.
