Final Fantasy: Legend of...
A Final Fantasy fangame that faithfully recreates the mechanics of classic Final Fantasies, with a light-hearted feel.

Ah, got it, thank you! Another question: what is the name of the BGM track played in the town of Rosalia?

Not FF but I like it!

Hey, where did you get those dirt tiles? The grass I know is from the psp version of FF IV, and I know the trees are macks. The cliffs are also from FF IV psp I think, but I don't recognize the dirt from anywhere. Thanks in advance; great game!

If I remember right it is from one of Celianna's tilesets. And I'm glad you enjoy the game!

Update: This system has been removed from the game, in favor of a flat bonus to certain stats when equipping an Esper. Stronger Espers will offer higher bonuses to stats than weaker Espers.

Probably a good change, a lot of people who played through my game just left Spirit boosting magicites on whoever they used as a healer for the entire game. By the end they ended up practically immune to magic damage due to the stat being insanely high, breaking the game pretty well, haha.

Now we're talking!

I hate to disappoint you, but the airship track is from FF8. It's probably my personal favorite airship theme in the series. The volcano was a clear choice though, since I also stole the name, haha.

That's because that area uses the tileset for the lodestone cavern from FF4CC. I always liked that cave design with the bridges and such. The music was from FF4 DS, it plays in a couple of different dungeons.

Battle pose is fine, she's ready to D-D-D-D-D-DUEL!

That blank space is filled in during enemy selection. Check out the other screenies and you'll see what I mean. It's my own riff off of the traditional look of FF games, where you see the enemy name on the left. In this one, you actually use that space to make your target selection.

Oh, yeah I saw that. I guess you'd just have windowless blank space the rest of the time if the enemy window is hidden until you're picking a target if you shrank it.

A bit of a nitpick but have you considered shrinking the status window on the left? Or is that blank space used for status icons or something?

That's a cool looking boat! Of course I am also noting the party change...

I really, really don't want to be "that guy", but while I see what you're going for here, it really does not work so great. I strongly suggest finding some tileset rips from FF1-3, tripling the size, and using those. They won't look great blown up that much but they'll look a lot better than what you've done here, which looks like shrinking the RTP tiles and then blowing them up again.

Alternately, you could use the grid size plugin and work with the tiles at 16x16 and then use a smaller screen resolution and upscale that. This would probably produce the best look but it's more work.

Like I said I don't mean to belittle your project and I think a dungeon crawler featuring various FF characters is an interesting idea, but you gotta do something about the graphics if you don't want people lambasting you. :/
