It's in a rar file, so you'll need software that can extract those, winrar is a good basic one.

Thank you! I was able to download everything, though now I'm getting a "Mode 7 Ace" runtimeerror message. I'll keep working at it!

Can you screenshot the error? That's a weird one. You might need to get the old directx runtime, I seem to recall that being the issue for another person.

Yeah, it got taken down.... I'm trying to find something that will actually stay up. Mindblowing that after like 7 years this is suddenly happening. If anyone has any suggestions for a good host, let me know please!

Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

Ok well I just tried to post a blog entry for the new download and the site won't let me so that's nice. I need to find somewhere else to host this game I guess.

EDIT: Nevermind it worked finally. Site's been really slow recently. =(

Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

Sorry about the trouble, I have updated the main download to a new google drive link that should work for the time being until I can find a more permanent solution.

I do have another fangame in limbo right now, started to work on it then the pixel remasters came out and now I kind of want to have the game be in that style...
Holy crap, I haven't been to this site in YEARS, but I remember talking to you about a successor of sorts. Happy to see that it's still on your mind after all this time.

I'm not good at RPG maker at all, but if there's any R&D or w/e you need help with, feel free to DM. I LOVED LoB and would be glad to help.

Hey, thank you for the offer! Since we've gotten quite a few requests, Ashiee and I actually talked about how we could make a sequel to the game that also addresses some of the issues the original had. No promises we're actually going to make anything, but she had some interesting ideas.

I will say that it probably would not have 20 playable characters again. We'd be going the route of a much smaller party with a job system to keep the choice and customization intact. It was fun trying to include as many friends' characters as I could and I am happy people liked them, but it was a real pain trying to fit them all into scenes and give them all dialogue, and I had a ton of ideas I scrapped because I just didn't want to deal with involving all of the characters.

Are there any plans of a sequel this game is amazing and no other fanmade final fantasy game has beat it

First of all, thank you for the kind words!

Secondly, quite a few people have requested a sequel, but I'm not entirely sure what I'd do with the story since I assume people would want to have returning characters, and these characters are at least somewhat tied to FFXIV. I suppose it'd be possible to just have them go off to another world again but the end of 1.0 pretty much offered a perfect excuse for our silly plot and I don't really want to just do the same thing again.

So I'm nearing the end and part of me would like to finish the game before that happens. I've beat bahamut and have followed the guide to my best ability, but where do i go afterwards?

There are a ton of sidequests to do. The walkthrough does cover them all (look above the Ramuh part), but you can also go to the fortuneteller in Emerald to get some hints for them. If you just want to beat the game there's a portal on an island north of Aquaria.
