Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

I actually had one in the game but removed it when testers said it wasn't needed, but I can toss it back in very easily. Did you have upgraded weapons? At the start, new gear makes a huge difference. I'll have a look at the mine specifically though, I probably shouldn't be expecting people to get a whole new gearset so early on when there's no sidequests. If you have gotten past it, feel free to give reports on later areas too. It should get easier in the next town because there will be several sidequests you can do for gil to upgrade your gear and get some exp.

Thanks for the feedback!

@ChrisMastery It does have the rtp files needed for the game but not much extra. Honstly the soundtrack is just too huge, it was a design mistake. I could compress the audio further but the game would still be in the 700 mb size. If this would help you be able to download, let me know.

@mangnaangemon Ack, I am sorry to hear you are having trouble. As suggested make sure the difficulty is on normal... I don't recall it spiking that fast on normal but I will say that due to my damage algorithims balancing the early game was really rough. If it is unfair even on normal I am definitely willing to adjust it. Grinding shouldn't be needed on normal.

That .rar file works beautifully.

Awesome, glad to hear it. Sorry for the trouble with the old one.

On that note, the download has been updated to Version 1.1. This version has the world map lag fix included, and is hosted on a different service for easier downloading(unfortunately, this reset the download counter, boo). It is also in a .zip file, so it should be completely painless for anyone to extract and play. Thanks for being patient, everyone, and I hope you enjoy the game! =)

Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

Those of you having issues with the download or extraction, please use this link for now, it contains a version of the game in .rar format, so it should be totally hassle free to download and extract.

Sorry for any headaches the other downloads have caused. ;;

Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

I'm sorry for the trouble. There is a mirror link, but I think I should probably swap them around because Mediafire really seems to be giving people trouble with the stupid captchas. I think I may also just put up a version in .rar or .7zip format to avoid RPGMaker extractor problems as well. Thank you for sticking it out though!

EDIT: Let me get a .rar up right now. I'd put it up on the site but I am pretty sure the download is too big.

EDIT2: Uploading a version in a rar to my google drive, that should be hassle free for people while I work out a better link.

Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

I think it's related to the mode 7 script for the airship. Removing that seemed to stop the fps from going down, but unfortunately the game kind of needs that script, so I'm seeing what I can do about it. ;;

I'm glad that restarting the game fixes it though! I'll keep trying to figure out a better fix, though. Thanks for playing. =)

Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

I will have another look at the world map. I think all of the testers had pretty beefy PCs so might be that we did not notice how bad it actually is. That said I already have really aggressive antilag going, so I"m going to see if maybe there is an errant event somewhere. Thanks for the heads up!

Download doesn't work. All I get is non-ending captchas.
Yikes, I'm sorry! Try the mirror? If that doesn't work for you I will get another up.

To anyone else having trouble with Mediafire, go to the Downloads tab and try the Mirror link. If that has problems too, I'll get another Mirror up as soon as possible. Thanks for all the interest!

Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy II

Yeah, doing it the way WCouillard said works better if you plan to have Certain Hit physical attacks. It's more of an issue with a Shell state, because if you have Reflect in your game, using Certain Hit would bypass both Shell AND Reflect, so it's definitely better to set up shell as resistances like he said if you're not using any scripts for Reflect. I used a standalone script to enable certain spells to pierce Reflect so I could keep them all as Magical Damage (besides Cures). I just use PDR/MDR because I like where it applies in the damage calculation more. Sorry if I steered you a bit wrong, sometimes I forget why I did stuff a certain way in my own game. ;;

btw love your game too Wcouillard!

Ah, awesome! Thanks for that, I'll add it to the script when I get home today! As for Tankentai, I'm having no issues with it yet other than not being able to tell if stat buffs are working (states such as protect are applied, but the damage doesn't seem any lower when a character is hit). There will be some attacks later that I'll need to figure out how to make work properly in Tankentai such as Meteo or Omni-Slash (making many damage numbers pop up during one animation), but that's much further down the road.

Glad I could help, I hope it fixes the problem for you. As for Protect and stuff, I really, really hope you don't mind but I took a quick peek in the database of the demo just to see how you had the Protect state set up. It looks like you have it set up to double defense? What you could try instead is having it change the SP Parameter "PDR". PDR is just a percent value of physical damage taken, setting it to say PDR * .5 will make you take half physical damage while the state is on. MDR is the same stat for magical damage. It might be easier for you to control the effect that way. Again, sorry if I overstepped or anything by looking.

Making multiple hit skills is no problem, I'd be happy to show you how to set those up when you get to them. ^^
