Hero's Sword

I don't expect a wide fan-base, trust me the comments i recieved when i first released it was VERY negative. Ad ys, 1000 is a major milestone, but I'm a young, aspiring, but mediocre designer, and Hero's Sword was mainly percieved as "bad" by many, MANY players. I do want to make another game in the series, but I have other projects I've been planning out, and I still need to plot out a HS sequel. If this game gets to 500 downloads, i think by then ill be ready to make a sequel. Thank you for your thoughts, wether they be good or bad ones. I hope you enjoy playing Hero's Sword, and hopefully ou'll enjoy it's sequel whenever it finally comes into production :D

You should make the decision to make a game based on your own motivations, and not on some arbitrary "popularity" count on the internets.

TBH i have wanted to make a sequel, i almos did after making the first one. That being said, I still hafta plan it out, so i feel the time it takes to reach 500 downloads will get me nice n ready for a decent sequel.

I can't believe it:D Hero's Sword has actually got over one hundred downloads! I know that's not much, but for me that's a major accomplishment. Thank you all for downloading and playing my first game. I hope you enjoy it, player :D
BTW, can you find the secret boss in the game? Or for that matter, can you find the hidden character?

Didn't you think anything was strange about a 40+ MB download when no other game is over 1MB? Thanks for over 100MB of zipped screenshots.

Next onto the fact that you zipped the entire contents of the SMBX program...*facepalm

You also left some save games in there, you'll want to erase those.

Well, anyways, I played up until the first star. It's not the worst game that could be made. There were a few interesting ideas that could be good if they were fixed up a bit, but overall there is too many "rough edges". Mis-matched tiles, missing pieces, and just plain poor design choices. I died when I entered the area called xxPipe Axx .. why have the xx's around the names? It looks bad.
You know... for as much criticism you gave coming from that elite attitude of yours, I have to say, I enjoyed playing this game far better than your project on the SMBX


Every game has it's ups and downs, as long as you got players who found it fun, then you know you didsomethin right :D

Sorry man, but I can safely say that so far, I dislike this game.

Your levels are too short, and most of them are EASILY passable by just running up the road of clouds and reaching the end. On the other hand, some of your levels just look like disoriented, pain in the asses that is incredibly difficult to beat. There are also several weird music bugs that occur on the world map.

I think your most excruciating levels come from the sky ones, found near the "bonus world" you put in. You are traveling up long, and I mean RIDICULOUSLY long sections and moving at the pace of a snail. There isn't even any obstacles to get in your way, so it was just tedious and boring. Honestly, It should NEVER take me more than 30 minutes to clear one section out of a Mario level. It doesn't end there, I actually died on one of these levels, and there was no way to bypass the long section with the way you placed your checkpoint, so I pretty much ditched that level.

I really hope you are listening to what everyone here, including me, are saying. You really need to work on your design. Think more of what the player would want to see and not just yourself.


Don't worry about Ratty, dood; he tends to bitch alot of people out so don't let him get to ya. I'm sure you're future projects will be great! practice makes perfect

Why thank you :D The nightmare maps were a bitch making (they get pretty damnbig later on) so I hope you find them enjoyable.

Reaver Rage

Reavers are not, the Reavlings though are just an artificial army made by Reavers to wipe out mankind, so at least some of them can be robots.
