[rm2k3] how do i remove the "grass effect" from this chipset?

kay i recently downloaded this rtp-style snow town chipset from charas (by some dude named Ranma) so i can use it in one part of my game. but when i try to make a house or roads, some grass seems to appear at the sides/edges. i was wondering how i can remove this "effect". anyone?

How do i make a torch emit light?

its one of those things to make my game look realistic. i've never figured out how to do it, maybe it has something to do with the "Tint Screen" event but idk. is there any way to do this?

Biological warfare as a game's theme

i dunno i just thought about putting the theme in my game because themes like magic as a weapon is just.....kinda common and i wanted to try something new.

if you were to put bio-warfare as a weapon in the game's theme, how would you present it? would it make a good theme?

ok on to the main part. i wanted to make sprites of Vincent (from ff7) using Charas.ex. thing is, his hair looked.......awful. so i decided to completely redo his hair. here is the result:



so now my question is, are the sprites i made decent? if not, what do i need to fix?

i made my own sprites using charas then i saved but when i imported it to RM2k3, it said invalid image size. do i have to resize it or something? if so, then to what size?

also, when i tried importing a file i made from Face Maker, it said "Invalid color depth" or something like that. any fix?

aaandd another question, whats a good program to make my own battle sprites?

Day and Night system part 1 and 2

i have a problem. the translations in the Rm2k3 in the tutorial is different from the translations in mine. example, in the tutorial, it's called "Fork Operation" while in mine, it's called "Conditional Branch". so here's where i need help.

i need to know what the commands there mean, because the translation isnt the same as mine.

also, i need to know whose translation is the "official" one. mine or the one in the tutorial? the tutorial can be found here: http://uirpg.com/tutorials.php?act=view&tutid=181

another problem here, i dont know where "Set Screen Tone" is in my translation.

how do i make a skill do......?

how do i make a skill take out half (or 50%) of the enemy's current HP in rm2k3?

example, Slime has 100/200 HP but when i use the skill, its HP is reduced to 50/200 HP.

"Town" tileset (from RTP) not working in RM2k3!

i dont know what happend, the town tileset that came from the RTP suddenly stopped working. i tried copying the file and pasted it somewhere, then deleting the original file from the RTP-->Chipset and then i tried to import the copy/pasted "Town" tileset to the Chipset folder but it just said "unsupported PNG image" or something like that.

then i tried pasting the town tileset back to the RTP folder but again, the town tileset was just blank in RM2k3. when i tried opening the file using Paint or another program, it's just normal, all the tiles are there, but when i try opening it in RM2k3, it's just blank, thats all i see.

what do i do? many maps in my project use the Town tileset! :(

How do i make a ceiling in RM2k3?

it's the only thing i dont know how to make. where is the "ceiling" tile on each tile set? does it even exist?
