I honestly think the crow was somehow contributing to everyone thinking I was a dude. Also, Edea is pretty cool. I will probably change it back to an image of a crow eventually (so no Esby you are not the last corvidae).

I have NEVER understood why the shortened version of "avatar" is "avi" because THERE IS NO I IN THE WORD AVATAR. But thinking of the movie format, I did double check before I posted this status, and avi does seem to be the preferred abbreviation for avatar on most of the webs.
anyway certainly can't blame anyone for thinking of ".avi" files as I was considering the possible confusion when I posted the status

TBH people are always gonna assume you're a guy, because people just generally default assume guy on nerdy video game spaces, despite increasing ladytype presence. Even with a ladytype avatar, because a lot of dudes like to put their waifus in their avatars (or possibly just ladies they think are cool, but it's often waifus.)
Like if you really care, you can lean in and do like super girly dolls and pink and kittens, but even then someone will probably just assume you're a dude being ironic.
Basically, just make peace with the fact that you're gonna occasionally be correcting pronouns if it matters to you what gender you're perceived as online. Good news is, once you start getting known, other people will correct for you, so that's less work for you!

For what it's worth, there was at least one instance where somebody referred to me as she/her, despite my profile saying otherwise. That, I didn't make a saved post for. No, the post I saved was an instance of somebody thinking I was site staff when I wasn't (at the time) site staff.
