The art makes this pop. Everything is simple and understandable. Now, make "Alma" stick out more and add a game timer!

Good points, making the words stick out and the timer would be a piece of cake. I have the timer in the save menu, but I wasn't sure there would be a demand for one in the main menu until now. And thanks, I'm trying to keep it as clutter free as I can.

Dragon Age: Learn It Now

Yeah, battles felt pretty out of my control as well, despite whatever I set for my party's assignments. The game has a pretty iffy learning curve, but I've learned(playing many RM games) not to let that stop me from going as far as I can with a game unless it is pure bile. I KNOW I've yet to learn many of the intricacies of the game, but that's usually something I save for secondary playthoughs, so I don't ruin the experience of the first. But more on that later.

I made it through fade a while ago. When i went back to play i realized there was no fire to walk through so I could stealth my way in. Killed a few guys, ran like hell and trapped the rest. After that there was one more room and it was relatively easy as well. One I got the golem form it became far to easy even on normal and I switched it over to hard. Even after leaving the fade and the entirety of the next quest things were going smoother than ever. So I figured all that time alone really helped me get a feel for the mechanics more than having a full party could ever do. So though difficult trials and a ridiculous amount of ass beatings I finally know how to play decently.

Next time though, I'd just rather have a decent tutorial section, and a spot of tea. Thank you. I still feel the that the battles are more out of my control than they should be but it's faaaar more enjoyable now.

Oh and yeah, sorry Craze, playing this on the 360. My laptop was never equipped to run games decently. And the cost for getting a decent computer or upgrading the one currently have doesn't seem worth it for the few PC exclusive games I'd want to play. Such i guess the cost is in control, graphics, and lack of mods. Someday

EDIT:
Well now after picking up the game again and messing around with character settings, it now feels like I'm in almost complete control of the battles, at least the way the tides move. I think every time I post something here I get drastically better at the game, just to spite myself >:( !

Dragon Age: Learn It Now

Okay. I find myself in a most...awkward situation.
I've never played a game of this type before, maybe the makers expected me to, but it took me waaay to long to figure out, and I'm getting the hang of some things. For my first run I decided to go with a Dwarf rogue specializing in dual wielding and an archery. Things were going pretty well(except for all the dying/Normal Mode/).

Well eventually I went to save that one possessed kid, after dying to a Revenant a couple dozen times. Instead of making any sacrifices, I decided, being the nice guy(she-dwarf) I am, to go all the way around to the to the Circle of Magi to ask for help and WONDER OF WONDERS, it was under attack (I wasn't actually shocked in the least. Run into a tower under surprise attack at once, shame on you game. Run into a tower under surprise attack at twice, shame one me. Run into a tower under surprise attack 3 times, and...again? Seriously? I digress.)After dying another several dozen times, I made it to the top of the tower. There was some sort of succubus lady there, but I just let her go with prey, because I was in not condition(mood) to fight again. Feeling good about dodge, I walk into the next room and get instantly transported to The Fade, by myself(who normally plays support), with 0 healing items, an nothing to make more with. But hey I'm a trooper, how bad could it be?

Well 2 hours and 25+ deaths later I decided to swallow my pride switch over to "casual" like a little bitch. Gladly ready to switch it back once I had some sort of mercy(healing items, crafting material, a friend/distraction). I eventually made it to Mage's Asunder, and good, god, ALMIGHTY. I've have never received such a thorough, complete, and consistent ass beating in my video game history. I couldn't even guess the digits my death count was in. On room in particular will be carved into my mind til the day I die. Something that should have been pretty easy, if not just moderately difficult. A room. 4 seemingly regular mages. "Flame On", walk right in, dead. Change of plan. "Flame On", walk right in, change to normal, attack, kill one, insta-killed by explosion. Change of plans...
Well one hour in i just realized there was a single weak potion on the ground (whether it was a pity potion or always there, I could care less) and 3 aspirins later, the plan is ready to go(after 20 tries or so, I knew it would work)!

"Flame On", run right in, change to normal, attack, kill one, haul ass, kill one next to a pillar, set trap, pray to vishnu the third walks into it, trap works, hide behind pillar, change to mouse, go stealth(the game said it wouldn't work, but the game was wrong that time), sneak up behind the 4th and bludgeon them with everything I had ready. Victorious. I felt like a champion among champions. I was out of everything that I had, but I was victorious. It was on child's play mode but I didn't care. Finally! Saved the gamed and continued forward.

Next room, 4 more mages, insta-killed by an explosion.

So now I'm trying to decide if I should play something else, or take a hammer to the disc, and then play something else. I'll sleep on it.

EDIT: PS, I'm 90% sure the reason I made it this far is because of my man-crush for Alistair. Perfectly Healthy.

Game Plan for 2011

Well focus to focus on finishing the base of Adela Isra:TBP. At least getting it to the point which the story completes from beginning to end in a playable form, and then spending the time after that refining it and and tweaking things i could get to before hand. I still have a ton of mapping and eventing to do, a bit of database managment, and more art than I want to think about. I'm feeling pretty optimistic about the year.

Necropolis

Can you play as Abraham Lincoln?

Act I Poll

Honestly I would be more for making what's there tighter and more interesting, rather than just removing huge chunks away from what's already there. I think from the point you leave with Seri and Zaqris until you arrive at Barette could be cut down, the town/beach area NPCs could be squeezed in the first area(I suppose that would cause a few problems with an ACTIII scene but seems like something that could be worked around I think?).

Town to town to town works for the more open feel of Acts 2 and 3, but for the first act, it really makes for awkward pacing.

Act II suggestions?

Hmm. You actually got almost everything I was going to say but there are still a few things I'd like to see.

-Just a few more details on Vanquish earlier on would do a lot of good
-Escape skill( I will bother you about this always).
-Rien... is just more trouble than she's worth. Duct tape aint cheap.

Other than that I can't think of anything that isn't already covered.

Craze's Let's Play! Topic

Hmm some of the uses of ellipses seemed correct while others seemed a bit superfluous(at least so far). Is your problem with ellipses in dialogue pertain to it's usage being incorrect, or the dialogue it happens to create?

"But....I....brother....I....I...just..."(i.e. 90% of rpgmaker dialogue)

I think using them for pauses, omitting words, and a sentence trailing off helps bring distinction and personality to dialogue. I see them along the same line bold words, italics, aaaaand elongated words. But I do admit for every one he used correctly, there was another two that made no sense.

As for Sailerius thoughts on act 1...well I'll put that in the blog.

EDIT: After watching further, I see the ratio is now 1 out 8 times the ellipses are used correctly. My apologies. Good god almighty.
