Poes turned invisible and unattackable (but their lanterns were still visible) when z-targeted in almost every Zelda game from Ocarina of Time onward, so I feel like they should be reskinned Boos. Their behavior fits perfectly; the invisibility takes the place of Boos hiding their faces. And Moa should ideally be something else that moves a lot faster anyway, though I'm not sure what. Lakitus? Maybe the sun from SMB3, or the face from SMB2 that chases you when you have a key? Iunno.
Anyway I made an 8-bit Poe out of the one from Link to the Past by removing a few colors. Use as you see fit. I don't have SMBX on this computer right now though, so I don't know what the filenames should be and also probably did it wrong.
(the mask images are straight up invisible on this black background so I put a quote box around each image)

The one from Oracle of Ages technically would have fit our graphical style better since it was 8-bit to begin with, but it looks so stupid:

Because if that's the case, we should make EVERY graphic in the 8-bit style for better consistency, and as of now we are still using the default graphic for Link!
So far we seem to be leaning towards using Zelda chiptunes as the soundtrack ,what else?
Unless we do as they did and make our own version of the engine, which might be necessary for world map stuff, frankly.
