[Poll] World Salvation General Rebirth!

I haven't been able to scan them in yet, but I have some new concept sketches I wanted to show. Aside from that, I was trying to think up of a class system, and came up with something like this:
Imperial-for the emperors of world conquest, strongest overall, but also most expensive.
Admirals-the naval based commanders. Very fast and dangerous, but no close combat capabilities and expensive.
Mechanized-focuses on firepower and the like, but has some maneuverability issues and high resource consumption.
Cavalry-fast, and generally strong in combat, but not very durable or accurate.
Infantry-basic type, with wide range of capabilities, but generally not very durable. Made up for by low consumption rates and cheapness, and relative abundance.
Rebel(or guerilla)-Not very good at tacking a hit, but very accurate, lowest resource consumption rates, and good at delivering a hit.
Auxiliary-the other commanders they managed to bring back who, while not able to help directly in combat, do have other uses, such as healing, reducing consumption rates, increasing luck, and other such things.

Any feedback on these would be appreciated, especially since I might subdivide them further into heavy and light where appropriate. At the same time, I am thinking of creating a Google doc (or spreadsheet) that anyone can view with the stats and other things on it, but I would first want to know if these classes would work on paper.

They're a bit big and blurry to give a proper critique on, but I will say you have what looks like the beginnings of an interesting art style.

I did try my best to get the pictures clear, and I'll try to find the clearer photos of them. Glad you like them so far.

Well, here they are. Sorry about the inconsistent quality of the pictures:
Generals

Kurome Sonye Jia

So Yeah, I know they aren't that good, but please tell me what you think of these so far.

I am satisfied with those answers. Sounds like it'd be an interesting game.

Thanks for the feedback, and the help. Should I post the concept art I do have done then? The enemy art isn't as high quality, but it would be nice to hear what people think of the ones I do have done.

How did a tomb get disturbed in the middle of a battle, to the extent that the body was no longer buried/covered? If no conventional force could stand against the Kurome Sonye Jia, how did fluid from one get onto the general's body in the first place?

What is it about dead generals that makes them somehow more effective against the Kurome Sonye Jia than conventional weaponry? I assume the game will answer this, but was more wondering if you actually knew now what the answer is going to be.

If the fluid brings people back as the opposite gender to what they were, they would have noticed that the original general was now the opposite gender (and if they were a "great general" they must have at least been well-known enough for someone who disturbed the tomb to have known the gender they were meant to be) so the fact that Alexander the Great came back as a girl shouldn't, at that point, have come as a shock to anyone. Also, why did Alexandra the Great require someone to direct her actions in battle, exactly? Do you mean that she didn't possess free will and someone had to tell her what to do?

1. The battle just happened to swing that way when they were fighting, almost as if the Kurome Sonye Jia were trying to raid the tomb.
2. They haven't been able to really kill them, but by throwing large enough numbers of soldiers at them they were able to slow the creatures down to a crawl, even though they were only injuring them. It was just by chance that one of the units were using parts of the tomb as cover, the area where the general was just happening to break open as a bleeding Kurome Sonye Jia attacked their position.
3. It isn't exactly clear, as they did try the fluids on normal soldiers without any effect. The only thing they can theorize as to why that's the case is because they seem to be able to embody the collective spirit and abilities of their army. For example, Admiral Yi Sun-shin was capable of summoning broadsides to attack her foes, but is seemingly incapable of defending herself in hand to hand combat, while Alexander is capable of fighting off endless waves close up, but has no ranged capabilities.
4. They were in the middle of a battle, and simply didn't notice that the gender had changed. Not to mention, the body was mangled beyond belief so the identification of gender was not something they were thinking of when they tried to confirm the story.
5, 6. Culture shock (and so the player can control them) mainly, but I will have to think on that part more.
Thanks for helping with the engine so far. I don't know if this is the exact game I'll use it for, but it's the main one I can think of...which is also why I was asking about what people thought of it.

Aside from that, should I post the stats I have done for the characters, as well as the concept art I have done? It's only for about five (I may have another one done before I post) of the controllable generals and about 4 enemy designs.

The idea sounds fun, actually. Although constant fluid-exchange is a little bit odd.

Still, I care much more about the how, rather than the what. You can make anything interesting. Usually the story alone is not enough to hold me (unless done very, very well)

Yeah, once I get the battle engine to a satisfactory state, I'll post a demo of the game.

[Poll] World Salvation General Rebirth!

Alright then, this is going to be an odd thing, but I have an oddly horrible idea. And, I mean the idea is horrible...just read what it is, as I'm trying to figure out what exactly I should do with this idea:
Long after the last great general came to the world, the world was invaded by an unknown species known calling themselves the Kurome Sonye Jia. No one knew if they were daemons, ancient spirits, or simply Alien invaders, but what was clear was that none of the convention forces were effective against them, as they quickly conquered almost half of the known world. However, during one of the great battles, some soldiers disturbed the tomb of a great general, and in the process, discovered that some fluid from a Kurome Sonye Jia brought them back to life long enough to kill one of the enemies. Frantically excited at this news, Scientists immediately set about digging up the bodies of old generals, commanders, warlords, and other such people and brought in the body of the dead Kurome Sonye Jia, using all the fluids from the creature they could to bring back the any one of them. Eventually, they succeeded in bringing back a copy of Alexander the Great...but then quickly discovered three facts:

1. They were unable to replicate another general with the available fluids they had
2. Alexander required someone to direct his actions in battle
3. Alexander was now a Girl

After using and directing Her to destroy more Kurome Sonye Jia, it was discovered that rebirthing each of the generals required different types and amounts of fluids from the creatures, and that it was only by pure luck that the one creature had enough for Alexander, with their secondary attempts failing massively. Attempting to bring back the other generals revealed similar results, with each of them requiring large amounts of fluids and each one being the opposite gender of the person they once were. Regardless of those facts, enough of the Commanders were brought back to stem the tides of the Kurome Sonye Jia, and the project was declared a success.

Now, you have been selected to lead a detachment of these commanders, keeping their personalities in line and directing them towards a total victory over the Kurome Sonye Jia, and save the world!

Yeah...I almost have an engine done for it, but right now I'm looking to see if anyone would even be interested in playing a game with that description...so, would anyone?

Attempting to code a battle engine

Okay, here's the running away code, and the parameters:
var selectedmonster.healthpercent = Math.ceil((selctedmonster.hp / selectedmonster.hp)*100);
var mina.healthpercent = Math.ceil((mina.hp / mina.hp)*100);
var runaway = Math.floor(mathrandom(1000)*1000)

If (selectedmonster.healthpercent >= 25){
<p>names + "is readying to fight!"</p>;
}
Else if (math.ceil(selectedmonster.sp * selectedmonster.healthpercent) < runaway){
<p>names + "tried to run away, but failed to do so."</p>;
}
Else if (math.ceil(selectedmonster.sp * selectedmonster.healthpercent) >= runaway){
<p>names + "managed to escape!"</p>;
battle = 0;
}
if (math.ceil(mina.sp * mina.healthpercent) < runaway){
<p>"Mina tried to run away, but failed to do so."</p>;
}
Else if (math.ceil(mina.sp * mina.healthpercent) >= runaway){
<p>" Mina managed to escape!"</p>;
battle = 0;
}

I had to type this part up on my tablet, so I apologize in advance for if anything is wrong, and that it isn't just in there.

It might be a bit more complex for you to maintain, but using an AJAX call you can have real-time updates to the page and its contents without having to have the user navigate to a different one.

That's what I was trying to build up to, thanks. I'll post it here later, but I also forgot to put in the code for retreating, and the perimeters under which the enemy might retreat.

Okay, I was going to just try and slot in the stuff you need with the code you have, but I honestly think this would be more effective if you used PHP and AJAX for the action processing. You mind if I tweak it a bit?

If you think that would help, then go ahead and be my guest.
