THERPGMAKERADDICT'S PROFILE

A player of almost every Rpgmaker2000/2003 game ever made (in english, italian, spanish, japanese, russian and german), fond of drawing (from portraits to pixel art), writing, rpgs (tabletop, crpg and jrpg) and fantasy addict (including Final fantasy, of course).

Review Vote Guidelines:
1/1.5 - so horribile I will not mention it. No one would like this trash.
2/2.5 - bad but with some good qualities or good
but with many bad flaws. Could have been worse and some people may like it anyway.
3/3.5 - from decent to good games. This is what I normally expect: entertainment. Some people may like it more, others less but it's ok!
4/4.5 - exceeded my expectations. These are must play for everyone.
5 - Rpgmaker Nirvana

*NOTE*: event games/jam submissions and other games that were developed in a very short time or with other restrictions get a rating bonus (usually +0,5), you are warned!

Re Quest Review

...No, just no rpgmaker 2003 game can have a decent real-time melee battle system...
That sounds like a challenge

well most action rpgmaker games I played and reviewed were pretty bad, and the good ones were almost never made with Rm2k and Rm2k3... there are some rare exceptions like Grimorum (but that's a stealth game, where action combat is technically a failure... you should avoid it rather than enjoy it!)

Of course ZERO BASE was one of the se exceptions! :P

Every Vote Counts Review

Thanks!
Oh pity you remade the game since the first version did no look bad (I liked a bit more the portraits, but this is because of the Rtp style of this rpgmaker version compared to the other one... probably for the same reason I like more the Celestial Weapon old version lol)

RMN's Australian Christmas (April Fools Version) Review

Thanks for the review Addict! I'm tempted to include a remastered version of this with Australian Christmas when it does eventually actually release so it helps to see what could be improved on.

Ohhhh very cool! STILL. I want the Australian Christmas GOTY release :P

Is there even still a way to get this game? The link to the developers google drive is no long accessible as far as I can tell.

Weird
I can download it from the google drive with no issues. The link on the main page works for me!

Attack On The Curse Review

Thanks for the review! I'm glad you like it.

Kinda agree with the abilities issue. Some of the upgrades are negligible while the others are too OP. I should have buff the underpowered upgrades but I afraid the game would be too easy.

I also didn't realize this game becoming a bullet hell until I playtest it. So I just go full bullet hell for the last boss.

Hehehehe took me a while to find a good strategy. On one hand reloading FAST is my objective, toughness is secondary since often I survived until they were able to hit me. In any case in the beginning I did not realize the POWER OF LEVELING UP! Sometimes it's worth waiting to defeat some more enemies before going to the next map where enemies are tougher. So you can one-shot them!

Sunken Spire Review

Thanks for the review!

You're right that the battlers are Milano-Cat with some that have been edited or frankened together to make the unique characters by me ^^

I like Milano-Cat style. The very first rpgmaker game I played mixed Milano-Cat sprites with GBA Fire Emblem ripped battlers and they fitted perfectly together! Impressive.

Thanks for the review! I'm glad you enjoyed your time Punching Bears xD

I'm going to have to check out Oscar's Mid-Life crisis for this homage. I'm incredibly flattered it exists.

Ahaha thanks! It was a cool experience (I say "EXPERIENCE" not just a game!)
Took me 3 years after playing it before making this review lol

Dragon Quest + Review

author=Ljink
Wow, that is some high praise there TheRpgmakerAddict! Thanks for taking the time to review the game. I enjoyed reading it. I may sound like a broken record but I'm just glad fans of Dragon Quest are enjoying what I've made. Really good Dragon Quest fan games are hard to come by, especially in the west. But I'm happy that I could make something that DQ fans enjoy.

Thanks again for your review!

Thanks!
Well you did an excellent job. I liked a lot this game, even if I'm not a fan of the series, since I've never actually played them but just seen some videos. I'm sure that those who played the real game will appreciate this upgrade even more!

Hi! I'm really glad you enjoyed the game. Thank you for leaving such a thoughtful and thorough review. Reading this made me really happy :D

It definitely has some flaws, but I'm glad to hear my intentions for the game were understood through the experience.

(On the subject of unused collectables... Your assumption is correct. There is indeed more to it.)

Once again, thank you for leaving a review, and thank you for playing my game!

Thanks!
Yes it's a cool game and seems I missed ONE collectable! Uhm ok should try again eheh. Anyway good job, setting and cutscenes were amazing!
