Don't you think that the font is kinda ... cramped? (for a lack of better word). It's still readable, but it's annoying to read.

Where is the character's shadows!?

Is that obvious? The shadow below the sprite. Or you probably need to look at the previous screenshot to see the difference

I would like to suggest you to use some of sideview enemy graphics like Milano Cat battlers or Etolier.

Well, those in screenshot might be just placeholders. But I expect in final product those graphics should be changed. Just my humble opinion.
