RPG Maker 2003 Question of Legalities

The part about screen capping, well the thing is, it's rather tedious work to do, and it's safer to assume most of the people would rather read it than go through the trouble of doing that, and even safer to assume people won't decrypt the files.

It's also safe to assume that once it gets popular enough to warrant those who will do it, to do it, the piracy will more so help it than ruin it.

RPG Maker 2003 Question of Legalities

Well they are paying to read the manga, not paying to use the program.
Plus it's easier for me to use RPG MAKER and encrypt the files thus while someone can decrypt it, it'll limit who would do it and steal the images to distribute across the internet.

RPG Maker 2003 Question of Legalities

Also it's not like it's being used to produce a game. I'm only using it for the "Show image" event function, and the ability to control events. Though better resolution means the images should show up better, so I might consider using like XP, or Ace.

RPG Maker 2003 Question of Legalities

I was under the original impression that LockeZ was originally talking about how even if it is illegal, more times than not they won't do shit to you (they just put up the terms so they could) unless they notice a decline in sales, or a potential decline of sales for something growing rapidly popular, and that if you requested a licence of some kind or just asked them ahead of time, they most likely wouldn't give a shit?

RPG Maker 2003 Question of Legalities

It's mainly because I'm used to RPG MAKER, since how easy it is to add in images to load up via events, I can make a system integrated into the manga pages, to be used as a manga reader program of sorts.

RPG Maker 2003 Question of Legalities

I guess what I'll do is use 2K3 to be the Manga reader of sorts, then, and before it gets super popular, use what money I have to create it's own program for it rather than using RPG MAKER.

RPG Maker 2003 Question of Legalities

Sailerius, you're beating a dead horse. Illegal, yes. But no one is going to do anything about it. They probably would if you were selling games on it, but not by using patched versions of the game.

RPG 20XX Engine

So there's absolutely no way to encrypt the files.

RPG Maker 2003 Question of Legalities

I wondered the same thing, but I wouldn't want to chance it, and underestimate the company who created it.

Since I have a fairly good chance at getting Smosh and Pewdiepie to promote the manga, if they could tell, they'd easily see my stuff.

RPG 20XX Engine

When events are added into this, I'd like to know something. Would it be possible for me to use 20XX to host a manga on, and sell it as a manga reader?

I'm working on creating a manga, and using something like this, I can actually limit a great deal, the time it'd take to pirate it. Can I get permission to do so, or is it not okay and illegal in some way?
