Although this game has just been released to rpgmaker.net, it's almost finished.

Youre welcome....hope I didnt come across as whining. Maybe make it weaker to that VOLT or FLAME skills the characters earned.

I have tried any number of tactics against your first boss.
I have gotten rid of all your soldiers and since they dont respawn there is only a certain amount of leveling you can accomplish and spells to go with that leveling. All doors seem to be locked so there isnt a place to buy any extra potions, etc.
Then you are thrown into the boss fight and as I mentioned all the combination of spells, items available to me, etc, dont keep me from being panties-down.
It doesnt matter if the previous battles with soldiers were easy leveling or that there are two save/heal points ( by the way if you just want to heal it seems you have to save FIRST...seems to be backwards )...if your first boss is too hard it makes you just want to say the hell with it.
Naturally I may have missed something really obvious.
Game is good to go so far but this boss is pissing me off.
Ah. I agree, first bosses can be a downer if they're too hard. I should probably lower it down a bit, then. And thanks by the way.

Yep, you've got that just right. They indeed are indications of scrolling left and right. I've had it for a while, so I'm a bit used to it.
