VALISFAN'S PROFILE
ValisFan

I'm ValisFan. I used to go by the name RPG Cove on GamingW. I made a few games, Comradis and Trap and Search. But now, I am working on a non-linear game similar to Fallout 2 or Elder Scrolls on RPG Maker 2003.

Minor Setbacks
Thats a bummer. I remember playing Love and War over 5 years ago, I think I was a freshman in college back then.
Ideas for quests
author=Apathetic_Meepauthor=ValisFan=}Thanks for this idea. It feels like something that would happen on Shivering Isles in Oblivion. Its a cool idea, but I do have a ton of things to program and not sure if I can get around to building a tower. [/quoteNo, you don't need to make a tower for me. I honestly don't have a clue on how I will be able to get community involvement into this project. I'm not good at working with others and assigning them tasks. This game will probably not really be THAT big in the end.
Well, I could probably make the tower, but the scripting to do that sounds pretty tough, and I only have RTP.

Okay. Basically, you're in a giant tower, and the only way to escape is to get to the top floor (of 5) and fight your way to a portal. However, the tower is filled with chests and chests of treasure. For every chest that you open, the monsters become more powerful, and if you open every chest, there is a 50% chance that your character goes insane and chooses to never leave the tower, in hopes that there is even more treasure, leading to a game over.
Originally, I was going to include this in my own game, but I am not an experienced enough coder, and I think your game is good enough to give my idea to.
Hope you like it!
Ideas for quests
author=Apathetic_MeepGo ahead and give your idea. I havent really been working on this game recently because I don't have much time and I'm playing other games right now like Oblivion.
I do have an idea, but I'm going to wait until this game has tons and tons of stuff before I suggest it. I just want to know that it's tonally there for this quest.
I concede
I actually did try out making an ABS system on Sphere. Sphere is actually a great engine to make a Zelda game.
Ideas for quests
author=rabitZYeah it is more like an assassin's quest. But I like that idea. I don't really want the thieves guild in this game to be "the bad guys." because in Morrowind and Oblivion, you were really just supposed to steal things for the thieves guild. And in Oblivion, if you killed someone on a thieves guild quest, you were kicked out and you had to pay reparations.
Maybe one of the thieves guild quest could be to poison a visiting noble in the tavern!
You had to get the ingredients for the poison from a contact or chemist in town, and then get to the attic of the tavern and poison his wine barrel!
... or something like that haha. though granted is more an assassins's guild type of quest than a thieves guild.

I really have no idea how this got here. I made the exact same post on my blog thread and somehow it wound up here.

RMN must be glitching. I'm the one who made this blog post for my own game, but somehow, it wound up over here.
Lands of Lore the name is already taken
author=NewBlackYeah I made it generic on purpose because I didn't yet have any idea what the storyline will be like. I choose to make the first word and the second word start with the same letter because it was a throwback to Dungeons and Dragons, Might and Magic, Trolls and Treasures, Wizards and Warriors, and all those other games that had the first and second words start with the same letter.
Although I think your concept and demo are awesome.. I never liked the name anyway. Pretty generic and forgettable imo, but that's just me.
