rpg maker xp

How do you make an rpg maker game from so not need the rtp package?

The number of skills for characters

Yeah, I have a question. In A game I'm making, my characters are given a handful of skills that I try to incorperate within them. But sometimes, I think that I have given them too few, and yet, were I to play the game, some of the skills that I do give these characters I would never use in the actual playing of the game. There are those people who believe that it's important to give characters lots of skills, and no I'm not using the spell book teaching method. They just get these skills as they go up in level. For the most part.

Creating Vibrant Towns and Villages

One thing also, when it comes to things happening within the town, you can give each town a specific event in which that town is talking about, so as to add to flavor.

Throne's Ascension

Have you gone far enough north? Roltose is north and west of City. It's before the mountains that keep you out from the rest of the continent.

Throne's Ascension

First you have to fight Shiva. Then you will be able to get her statue. The room that is filled with her statues, but not her is for display.

Maker XP Fonts

Yes, but where? Do I make a new class for fonts, or do I go to some spot in the existing scripts to change the font, that's the question I'm trying to get answered.
Do I add it to Main? or do I add this somewhere else? The editor was kind enough to give us the script, but not the where?

Maker XP Fonts

This seems like a crazy simple question, but how do I change the font in the scripting. I searched for the subclass of fonts, and the only one I found was for Script_Timer. Which class or whatever do I go to to change the font for the entire game?

[XP] Avoiving the Guards

Thank you. I have tested the script, and have found it well enough. I'm still very new with scripting so I am still getting use to that aspect of RPG Maker.

[XP] Avoiving the Guards

This is one of the oldest challanges in RPGs. Walk into a dungeon or prison, avoiding the guards seeing you. If they do, then it's "I see you" and start over. Is there a way to do this using events? I can't find anything in the conditional branches that even allow for such things.

Motivation sapping dungeons/maps... how do you deal with them?

Lucid made a lot of really excellent points. For me in my first game, I ended up making too many towns, and mapped each one of them, and most of their insides as well. That was enough for me to decide that my second game, I was going to change that. I still have far too many towns in my second game, but instead of mapping, even the whole town, I used events to say--while on the world map--hello you have come to this town, what is it you need, and then just mapped say a pub for gossip and news gathering. That has really cut down on my tedious mapping, at least for towns that is. I still need to work on that.
