The Shannara Chronicles

author=Liberty
I thought the Hobbit trilogy was pretty good. Maybe I'm not hipster enough to hate it? :<

Man, I remember reading the Shannara series when I was a teen. I'll be jumping all over this once the first season is complete.

I thought the Hobbit series was pretty good, too. You just can't compare it to LotR. The Hobbit was written for children, you have to remember that going in.

But I'll need to check on this series. Never read the books but it's all over tumblr and Twitter accounts I follow.

Here's Warlund!

I'm a fan of anything that man does, that man being none other than Jack Nicholson.

Anyway, on to me: I am Warlund. That's my handle, I have an actual name. It's Justin. I am in my early twenties, and... I forgot this isn't a dating site. Though, depending on who you meet, and how well you hit it off, any site is a dating site. Technically. Anywho, I've been making games ever since XP released but never finished anything I was happy enough with to release. One day that all will change, I hope. Currently, I'm working on a role-playing game I plan to release for free, called Heartfire: A Born Again Saga. It's already on here if you're interested in checking that out. Most of all, I enjoy making people laugh, or at least smirk, or at least making their eye twitch in disgust at how awful my jokes are. And let me tell you, most are awful.

Okay, that's it. I had to stop myself. Glad to be here, hope I stick around long enough to eventually, one day, call you people my "online friends."

You're going to release it back in time before my birthday!? What a great gift! :P

Hah. Good catch.

The Expanse

I'll have to take a look at it. I've been looking for a good sci-fi show, but they shoot craps so often, it can be a little wearying trying to find a good show. Sometimes, you just start skipping everything.

It's pretty solid. I think you'll enjoy it.

For game creators here: How did you get your start on how are you now?

It started long ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

I picked up XP and started messing around with it. Made a short little RPG called Something or Another. No, that's not a joke. I then went on to make a series of small, slightly horrible games that make me cringe today. Seriously, some of my design choices back in the day were laughable. But most of us probably have memories of those days. Eventually, I went on to VX, where I dabbled for a bit but ultimately lost interest for a few years. Skipped over VX Ace; grabbed up RPG Maker "Master Race" instead. Now, after at least ten years, I am working on releasing my first full-length RPG called Heartfire: A Born Again Saga. Hopefully people like it. But if not, it's back to the drawing board.

Now usually, I am very on the fence with what comes out of the SyFy Channel these days, but this one was a rare, pleasant surprise. It stars the very talented Thomas Jane and the voice of every other BioWare NPC, let's GO!

Anyone else watching this? First season has already aired, and it didn't disappoint. Also based on a book, I think.

Zero Gear Fighters Review

Bro, this review had me rolling. Not because of the developer's lack of ability, but because it echoes a familiar time for everyone, including myself. Even in my first game, I had the player delivering milk. Friggin' milk. Man, the memories... Anyway, I hope the developer takes from your critiques and makes better, if only slightly, games in the future.

Well, this is a first. Someone actually acted cool about advice.

Give this guy a fucking medal.

(I'm not being sarcastic by the way. I am actually legitimately happy to hear this.)
Seconded.

Initially reading this blog post, I was totally riled me up for a completely petty baw post in response to constructive feedback, but then I read it all the way through. You deserve respect, Warlund.

I was hoping no one would mistake my genuine appreciation for criticism as sarcasm. It's not. Thanks, anyway!

Only 12% done? Better crack that whip!

You know what, I am a dumbass. I actually downloaded the early alpha demo of this game a long time ago, and I remember thinking it was the coolest shit ever created in VX. You were still using the short sprites and I think it might have even been called something else, like just the Lady of the Lion or something. Anyway, I gotta play this again sometime.
