This isn't even forum necromancy at this point, its just straight-up archaeology.

It's funny how everything I ever did here ever somehow turned into LandTraveller.

Are you asking that question because you think this is a 2D game? The world is 3D, and the slopes make it easy for you to walk up and down on as opposed to jumping a block at a time (like the cave exit to the right).

I made this pattern by re-purposing RPG20XX's editor, each Z layer was side by side to make either a 128x16 map or a 256x32 map become a 16x16x8 or a 32x32x8 pattern. This isn't a user friendly method at all.

The ability to add your own easily as part of a mod will be introduced with mods. However, mod support is a massive feature. I need to make a game people actually want to play in the first place before there is an audience who wants to make and use mods for it. When and ever if the game becomes popular enough, then I'll start adding in mod support.

I added lighting effects like these specifically to reduce the "depth confusion" you get from the perspective as the world is 3D.

Is that water currently flooding into that area?

Yeah, I found it in the first place because I heard water noises offscreen.

Water flows in the game may stop at a certain point, however. This was done to keep stability at the cost of a little realism.

I might be able to find a stable algorithm to have the water level itself out a bit more, but its very difficult to do in the 3D case without oscillations or the water going berserk.

The button should be linked to the latest demo, if you want to try.

That's just as fair, they might try to do the same to you~

The things that actually attack you relentlessly in this game may or my not actually be living beings in the first place, at least in the sense you're used to.

That's kinda how it ends up in an unmoderated Minecraft game. Worry not, moderation and region protect will come standard in LandTraveller multiplayer.

Seriously, why weren't those standard in Terraria or Minecraft?

The random loot boxes in this game won't be those, they'll be special objects that break and give everyone individual loot like in Guild Wars 2 or Diablo 3.
